On February 22, Korean media reported that the upcoming girl group of Belift Lab (under HYBE Group), I'LL-IT, was invited to attend Paris Fashion Week.
The group's management company confirmed that all 5 members of I'LL-IT will appear at a fashion show held in Paris, France on February 28 (local time). This is a global domestic brand based in Stockholm, Sweden and is becoming popular among the MZ generation thanks to its creative, modern designs. It is predicted that I'LL-IT will probably attend the Acne Studios show.
I'LL-IT is the first Kpop group to have all members invited to attend fashion weeks abroad before debut.
However, on social networks, audiences have argued about this issue. Many opinions say that HYBE acted too hastily by letting the group work too early in the fashion industry. This could have the opposite effect, causing the group to lose sympathy in the eyes of the public due to excessive support.
Previously, some of the group's music groups caused controversy because they were "supported" too much when they first debuted. The 5 members of the group NewJeans had only been active for a few months and already had ambassador contracts with luxury brands. Recently, the boy band TWS was suspected of "cheating" digital music on domestic charts.
However, some people also think that the trend of new generation idol groups actively working in the field of fashion and advertising is currently happening. I'LL-IT's participation in Paris Fashion Week is just part of that trend.
As planned, I'LL-IT will release their first mini album on March 25. HYBE President Bang Si Hyuk personally took on the role of producer for the group's first music product.
I'LL-IT consists of 5 members Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee and Iroha, aged 16 to 20. The group was formed through the K-pop female idol selection program "RU Next?" of JTBC, so the members are currently receiving certain attention from the public.
The I'LL-IT lineup is equally praised for its beauty. The members' short videos released in advance on YouTube are also loved by GenZ fans.
Grammy.com (America's leading music publication) considers I'LL-IT to be "the Kpop rookie to watch in 2024".
