Awarding certificates of merit from the Prime Minister to two medical staff of Kon Tum

On the afternoon of February 27, in Kon Tum city, the Kon Tum Provincial Department of Health held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2025). At the ceremony, the leaders of the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee authorized the Prime Minister to award Certificates of Merit to Master, Doctor Hoang Long Quan and Master, Doctor Pham Minh for their achievements in the period of 2017-2022, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.

At the ceremony, the leaders of Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee authorized to award the title and badge of "Excellent Physician" to 12 doctors in the province. Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee also awarded certificates of merit to three groups and two individuals in the health sector of Kon Tum province for their outstanding achievements in caring for, protecting and improving people's health.

In recent times, the health sector of Kon Tum province has achieved proud progress and is constantly growing in all aspects, basically meeting the requirements of protecting, caring for and improving people's health in the new situation, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

The health system is increasingly improved, with the ratio of doctors per 10,000 people reaching 10.5 doctors, the ratio of hospital beds per 10,000 people reaching 39.3 beds, 100% of commune health stations have doctors, and the team of health workers in villages and hamlets is gradually being strengthened. The work of universal health care is focused on, with 94.18% of the population having health insurance, ensuring people have access to health services in a fair and effective manner.

Along with that, the facilities and medical equipment of provincial hospitals; district and city health centers; commune, ward and town health stations are increasingly spacious and modern; training to improve professional qualifications for medical staff is always focused on and promoted. Preventive medicine work is always focused on, basically meeting the requirements for the capacity to forecast, monitor, detect and control epidemics; dangerous infectious diseases, especially COVID-19, are basically well controlled; the rate of full vaccination for children under 1 year old is 97.8%.

Specialist Doctor II Vo Van Thanh, Director of Kon Tum Provincial Department of Health, emphasized that in the coming time, Kon Tum Provincial Department of Health will continue to develop a strong health system, ensuring that all people have access to quality and equitable health services; continue to arrange and streamline the organizational apparatus, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations; strengthen the building of a team of doctors with good medical ethics, good medical skills, and enthusiasm for dedication, further improving the qualities of physicians according to Uncle Ho's teaching "A good physician must be like a mother".
