In the solemn and emotional atmosphere of the ceremony, representatives of the Provincial Military Command and the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Ngai province awarded the Prime Minister 's Certificate of "National Gratitude" to the families of the two martyrs.
Martyr Nguyen Duoc was born in 1941 in Tinh Tho commune, Son Tinh district (now Tho Phong commune, Quang Ngai province), enlisted on March 2, 1962 in Battalion 20, Nghia Binh Provincial Military Command (now Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command), with the rank of warrant officer, and heroically sacrificed himself in a fierce battle with the US army in the Song Tang area, Son Ha commune, Son Ha district on November 11, 1970.
Martyr Do Lai was born in 1923 in Khanh Lam village, Tinh Thien commune, Quang Ngai city. During the resistance war against French colonialism, comrade Do Lai left his family and in June 1949 enlisted in the 803rd Regiment, holding the position of squad leader. On June 27, 1952, he fought and heroically sacrificed himself on the Dien Bien Phu battlefield.
Representatives of the Provincial Military Command and commune leaders expressed their deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs and their families; affirming that the awarding of the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate is a recognition of the merits in the process of work, dedication and sacrifice of the martyrs and their families in the resistance war for independence and freedom for the Fatherland.
