Providing breeding cattle to support people in overcoming poverty.

On December 12th, the People's Committee of Quang Yen commune, Thanh Ba district, organized a program to hand over livestock as part of the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction.

Leaders of the Quang Yen Commune People's Committee handed over a cow to Mr. Nguyen Van Kien's household in Dam Giang area.

At the event, the leaders of Quang Yen commune People's Committee handed over 11 breeding cows to 11 households classified as poor, near-poor, or newly-escaped-from-poverty in the commune. Each cow weighs between 125-130kg. Before receiving the cows, the households received training from specialists on livestock farming techniques, how to build barns, and how to treat some common cattle diseases.

Previously, the People's Committee of Quang Yen commune distributed 30 breeding cows to 30 households classified as poor, near-poor, or newly-escaped-from-poverty. The total cost of the project in Quang Yen commune was over 640 million VND. Of this, the central government provided 60%, with the remaining amount contributed by the people through labor, care, barn construction, supplies for livestock farming, and training in cattle breeding techniques .

This program is part of Project 2: Diversifying Livelihoods and Developing Poverty Reduction Models, under the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction giai đoạn 2021 – 2025 in Quang Yen commune. With the motto "Give a fishing rod, not a fish," the donation of breeding cows aims to help, support, and provide means of production, creating livelihoods for poor, near-poor, and newly-escaped-from-poverty households to develop their economy , stabilize their lives, and achieve sustainable poverty alleviation.
