Overview of the working session
At the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh and Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Tran Phuoc Son welcomed the delegation of the People's Council of Attapeu province (Laos) to visit and work in Da Nang city. At the same time, they affirmed that in the past time, Da Nang city has always paid attention to and highly appreciated the cooperative relationship with the provinces of Southern and Central Laos, including Attapeu province.
Implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation for the period 2023 - 2027 between the two localities, in 2023, the city will support scholarships for 25 officials and students of Attapeu province to study at Da Nang University; support a delegation of officials from the Department of Information, Culture and Tourism of Attapeu province to exchange experiences in the city...
At the meeting, the two sides focused on exchanging experiences in organizing the implementation of the role of monitoring, inspection and supervision, voter contact, receiving and handling complaints of the Provincial People's Council...
Specifically, from July 1, Da Nang city has piloted the organization of urban government. At each regular session, the City People's Council spends 1.5 to 2 days on discussion, questioning and answering questions; this is one of the important supervisory activities, reflecting the responsibility of the City People's Council delegates; the content of the questioning is concise, focused, focusing on socio-economic development tasks and urgent issues related to people's lives.
The supervision activities of the City People's Council Committees closely follow the set programs and plans; maintain the organization of supervision on 4-5 topics each year. Up to now, more than 50 urgent thematic supervisions have been organized, promptly resolving issues of public opinion and voters' concern.
According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, Tran Phuoc Son, the organization of direct supervision of the pilot urban government model in districts and wards in the city aims to promptly receive difficulties and recommendations, thereby proposing the development of mechanisms and policies to remove them, in order to ensure smooth operating conditions in localities.
The Standing Committee of the City People's Council organizes the program "People's Council with voters" before the regular sessions of the City People's Council, focusing on issues arising from the city's reality. This is an interactive information channel between voters and the city government; it is also a place to demonstrate the supervisory role as well as the companionship of the Standing Committee of the City People's Council and the City People's Council Committees with all levels and sectors in the process of implementing tasks.
Ms. Minaphone Xaysomphou, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Constituency 17, Chairwoman of the Attapeu Provincial People's Council, highly appreciated the achievements of Da Nang city in the past time, and said that this experience exchange will help Attapeu province further improve the efficiency of the Provincial People's Council, especially the work of receiving citizens and handling citizens' petitions and letters.
Attapeu province is located in the Southwest of Laos, bordering Sekong province to the North for 137.6 km; Champasak province to the West for 180 km; Kon Tum province - Vietnam to the East. People in the border districts often help each other, trade, exchange information, customs and practices, when there are emergencies, natural disasters, floods, landslides... The main sectors that promote GDP growth are agriculture, processing industry, solar power, minerals, construction and tourism trade.
