Co Chat silk weaving village, Ninh Giang commune has a tradition dating back hundreds of years. With traditional manual techniques, Co Chat silk is shiny and smooth, supplied by traders nationwide and exported to neighboring countries. Silk weaving has become a unique cultural feature in the daily life of the people here.
In May 2024, the Center for Application of Science and Technology and Innovation Support supported the Co Chat Silk Cooperative to build the collective trademark "Co Chat Silk" for silk products. After more than 1 year of implementation, the Co Chat Silk product was granted a collective trademark certificate by the Department of Intellectual Property ( Ministry of Science and Technology ). The Co Chat Silk Cooperative is the owner of the collective trademark "Co Chat Silk".

At the conference, representatives of the Department of Science and Technology and the Ninh Giang Commune authorities awarded the Certificate of Collective Trademark Ownership “Co Chat Silk” to the Co Chat Silk Cooperative and 11 members. The granting of the collective trademark contributes to preserving and promoting the value of the traditional silk weaving craft village, while enhancing the prestige and socio -economic value of the product in the domestic and foreign markets. This is also the basis for preventing counterfeit and fake goods, protecting income and sustainable livelihoods for local people.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vu Xuan Trung, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, congratulated the Ninh Giang Commune Government, the Co Chat Silk Cooperative and the villagers. He emphasized that the Department of Science and Technology will continue to accompany the local government and the Cooperative in developing the brand and increasing the added value of the products. At the same time, he requested the local government, the Cooperative and the villagers to continue building an ecosystem so that Co Chat Silk can continue its journey of enhancing the product brand, expanding and developing the craft village sustainably.
