TPO – On the occasion of National Day, September 2, patriotism is spread by young people on social networks thanks to positive and inspirational trends.
Take a photo with the national flag, wear ao dai and salute the flag
Before the holiday, a series of TikTokers made videos wearing traditional costumes, solemnly saluting the flag on command. The images embedded in the videos are the red flag with a yellow star, scenes recreating important national events such as the Dien Bien Phu victory, the Liberation Day of the Capital, historical and cultural relics, etc.
The phrase: “Long live the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Eternal glory belongs to the cultured and heroic Vietnamese people” played on the background music creates a ripple effect, arousing the national spirit.
TikTok account Dao Le Phuong Hoa led this trend, the flag-raising video reached more than 19 million views, nearly 2 million likes. Actor Hoang Anh Vu, model Andrea Aybar, actor, MC Le Bong also followed this trend and were praised by the online community.

Another trend on National Day is “National Flag in the Eyes” which was prepared quite elaborately and creatively. The image of the Vietnamese flag on the screen is placed opposite the character. The image of the national flag is reflected in the eyes. The videos are combined with the background music of the Green Forest echoing the sound of the Ta Lu .
Many social media users left positive comments under these videos, many calling this trend “National flag in the eyes, Fatherland in the heart”. On TikTok, the keyword National Day also entered the top trending list.
These days, many revolutionary songs praising the Fatherland such as Tien Quan Ca, Rung Xanh Rang Tieng Ta Lu, Tuoi Tre The He Bac Ho, Mot Vong Viet Nam… are constantly playing in social media videos. Some coffee shops decorate their spaces with flags, colorful flowers and play revolutionary music while serving customers.

By the evening of September 2, the trend of combining photos into a pre-decorated frame, with the caption: "Me and the national flag" or "Proud to be Vietnamese" had been used more than 21 thousand times.
Many famous people took photos at Ba Dinh Square and the Temple of Literature wearing ao dai or white shirts, shirts printed with the red flag with a yellow star to show their patriotism.
The idea of painting the national flag on roofs and doors appeared on social networks since late July and was supported by people in many provinces and cities across the country.
Use social networks to spread patriotism
During National Day, historical and cultural relics such as the Temple of Literature, Ba Dinh Square, Hoa Lo Prison, the house where Uncle Ho wrote the Declaration of Independence, etc. welcome a large number of visitors, mostly young people, to "check in" and learn about history.
That is also a good sign showing that the glorious past of our ancestors is always cared for and respected by today's generation.

Sharing with Tien Phong about the patriotism of the young generation in modern life, Dr. Cu Van Trung - Director of the Institute for Policy Research and Social Issues - commented that young people increasingly have a more correct perception of the historical and cultural values of the nation. The young generation always shows love for the country and the Vietnamese people.
“Through social networks, people’s emotions are spread and resonated more than ever. Using social networks properly toeducate about patriotism and awareness of protecting national rights is a practical and commendable action,” said Dr. Cu Van Trung.

Experts also believe that every citizen, especially young people, needs to continue to contribute to arousing national pride and patriotism through creating, filming and taking pictures and clips about the beauty of Vietnamese people, the cultural identity of the nation or the landscapes, festivals, customs and activities of Vietnamese people in a pure and respectful way.
