On December 5, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh signed a decision to award certificates of merit to 12 martyrs of the Ministry of National Defense.


The Certificate of Merit was awarded to 12 martyrs of the Ministry of National Defense who died on December 2, 2024.

Truong Van Tien; Sergeant, Soldier of Company 3, Battalion 17, Division 5, Military Region 7; hometown: Thanh An Commune, Dau Tieng District, Binh Duong Province.

On the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh issued a dispatch regarding the accident during the exercise at Military Region 7 (Xuan Tam commune, Xuan Loc district, Dong Nai province).

In the telegram, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent his best regards and deepest condolences to the families and relatives of the victims.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directed the Ministry of National Defense to coordinate with relevant ministries, agencies and local authorities to organize thoughtful visits, encourage and share the pain and loss of military families; implement the best policies and regimes for military personnel and their families and relatives; organize thoughtful funerals, quickly overcome and resolve the consequences.

The Ministry of National Defense urgently organized a crime scene investigation to clarify the cause of the incident; reviewed and inspected all procedures in command and operation of the exercise; organized lessons learned, overcome limitations, and ensure absolute safety in training and exercises.

Focus on stabilizing the ideology of officers and soldiers throughout the army; strictly maintain training and combat readiness according to regulations.
