The third season participating in the national second division football tournament, but this is the first time the Quang Nam Youth team has played at Tam Ky Stadium (the previous two seasons, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team had to compete in Hanoi). True to the nature of a young team, the players played enthusiastically and with all their heart from the beginning to the end of the match.
Impressive debut
On the afternoon of May 28 at Tam Ky Stadium, the Quang Nam Youth team welcomed Luxury Ha Long in the early match of round 2 of the 2023 National Second Division.
After holding off neighboring team Tre SHB Da Nang at Hoa Xuan Stadium in their opening match, the young team from Quang Nam returned home with the goal of winning all 3 points against the newcomers from Quang Ninh.
And at the end of 90 minutes at Tam Ky Stadium, coach Dang Duc Nhat and his team successfully completed the set target, not only a win but also showing the spirit of "burning out", the true quality of a young team.
The 2023 Second Division has 14 teams divided into 2 groups. After the end of the group stage, the two teams ranked first and second in each group will qualify for the final round to compete for a ticket to the First Division. The two winning teams in the final round will directly qualify for the 2023 - 2024 First Division. The two losing teams will meet to determine the winning team, who will continue to play a play-off match with the 10th ranked team in the 2023 First Division to find the team that will participate in the 2023 - 2024 First Division.
Determined to win, not long after the ball started, Tre Quang Nam quickly took the lead thanks to Nguyen Van Do. Coach Dang Duc Nhat's players continued to maintain their attacking style of play in search of more goals.
The opportunity came, but at the penalty spot in the last minute of the first half, unfortunately Nguyen Van Do's shot was quite weak and was blocked by the opposing goalkeeper. As one of the most aggressive players, this player wearing the number 9 shirt once again scored to double the gap for Tre Quang Nam after a lightning counterattack in the second half of the second half. Although Luxury Ha Long scored in the 90th minute, in the extra time, Hoang Nam shone to seal a 3-1 victory for the home team.
Winning the right to play in the National Second Division from the 2021 season, this is the first season that coach Dang Duc Nhat and his team have played at home at Tam Ky Stadium. With a lot of pressure to win for the fans in their first time coming to the stadium to cheer, the young team from Quang Nam had a more impressive debut.
Quang Substance
In the 2020 Third Division season, coach Dang Duc Nhat led the Quang Nam Youth team to an excellent performance and won the right to play in the National Second Division. However, in the 2021 season, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the tournament only lasted one round and then stopped completely.
In the 2022 season, the team moved to Hanoi , and the young players from Quang Nam had an unbeaten first leg (4 wins, 2 draws) and finished the season in 4th place in Group A (the tournament was divided into 2 groups, each group had 7 teams).
This season, Quang Nam Youth is in Group A with 6 teams (including PVF, Dak Lak, Luxyry Ha Long, SHB Da Nang Youth, Gama Vinh Phuc, Lam Dong), competing in a home and away format.
Preparing for this year's season, Quang Nam Youth "lost" a player when national U19 player Nguyen Dinh Bac was promoted to the Quang Nam team to compete in the First Division in 2023. However, the team still has some notable faces, especially those who have been trained in the national youth teams participating in international tournaments.
Among them is Le Van Quang Duyet - a player born in 2005 and who won the 2022 Southeast Asian U19 Championship with the Vietnam U19 team. In the recent match against Luxury Ha Long, this player wearing the number 14 jersey played quite actively, contributing greatly to the home team's victory.
Or captain midfielder Dinh Quy (wearing the number 3 jersey) performed very well in his role as leader on the field. The player born in 2005 from Hoi An also played for the Vietnam U23 team that won the 2022 Southeast Asian U23 Championship in Cambodia.
In addition, the striker who scored a double against Luxury Ha Long - Nguyen Van Do is also a player worth looking forward to this season. With many years of experience in the First Division (one season he was even loaned to Can Tho by Quang Nam) and the ability to play aggressively, Nguyen Van Do (born in 1998) is not only expected to be the "fuse" but also to do well in the role of leading his juniors.
Under the leadership of young coach Dang Duc Nhat, the Quang Nam Youth team has shown the true qualities of a young team, full of enthusiasm and always trying their best until the last minute. This is considered a breath of fresh air for Quang Nam football.
