Investing in essential infrastructure
Visiting Tri Phu commune these days, we clearly feel the enthusiastic and urgent atmosphere among local officials and people as many key infrastructure projects are accelerating towards completion. Improved transportation and modern schools are the clearest evidence that capital from national target programs is yielding tangible results in this area.
In Khuoi Pau village, the joy is doubled as the Khuoi Pau overflow bridge project, invested in and constructed from 2025 with a budget of over 15 billion VND, is entering its final stages of completion and preparing for handover and commissioning. This is a vital bridge, connecting the transportation axis to the three villages of Khuoi Pau, Na Coong, and Khuon Lan, directly serving the transportation and trade needs of more than 200 ethnic minority households.
Standing and admiring the sturdy concrete bridge, Mr. Ha Van Cao, Party Secretary and Head of Khuoi Pau village, couldn't hide his emotion: "Before the bridge was built, every time the rainy season and floods came, the three villages of Khuoi Pau, Na Coong, and Khuon Lan were almost completely isolated. The stream rose high and flowed fiercely, making it impossible for people to go to work, and agricultural products were sold at low prices by traders because they couldn't be transported out. The worst part was that the students had to miss school because the road to school was too dangerous; cars and motorbikes were completely useless. With this solid bridge, from now on, the villagers no longer have to worry about fleeing floods, and trade and travel during the rainy season will be absolutely safe. The people are very happy!" Along with the investment in building the bridge, Khuoi Pau village received support from the State to concrete two internal village roads with a total length of 200m, raising the percentage of internal village roads that are concreted to 80%, making travel more convenient for the people.
Not only has transportation infrastructure improved, but local education infrastructure has also seen significant breakthroughs. The Tri Phu Ethnic Boarding Primary School, recently constructed on a large scale using funds from the National Target Program, includes 12 classrooms and functional rooms, comprising 6 standard subject classrooms and 6 auxiliary functional rooms, all fully equipped with modern teaching equipment.
Ms. Hoang Thi Thap, Principal of Tri Phu Ethnic Boarding Primary School, said: "Many years ago, the school's facilities were very difficult, lacking specialized classrooms, which hindered the implementation of the new general education program. Now, the new, spacious school building has realized the dreams of both teachers and students. This provides the school with the conditions to improve the quality of teaching and learning, helping boarding students have a safe, comfortable living and learning environment, and feel secure in staying in class and at school."

| Rural roads in Tri Phu commune have been invested in, making travel easier for the local people. |
Creating leverage for socio-economic development.
To achieve the significant transformation in rural infrastructure that it has today, Tri Phu commune has proactively integrated resources from many major state programs and projects such as: the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction; the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas; the National Target Program for New Rural Development; and the Program for Concrete Paving of Roads and Construction of Bridges on Rural Roads.
To ensure effective investment, the commune clearly identifies key projects, prioritizing essential items and avoiding scattered, wasteful spending. Along with resources from various programs and projects, the commune has extensively promoted and mobilized the people to contribute their labor and resources to building their homeland, reaching every household. This spirit has been positively received by the people, creating a sustainable community strength in building new rural areas.
Thanks to this systematic and flexible approach, the face of Tri Phu commune's rural areas is changing day by day. The transportation system, schools, and public works are being increasingly improved. The material and spiritual lives of the ethnic people in the area are gradually improving significantly.
Comrade Ha Dinh Dat, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tri Phu commune, said: In the coming time, the commune will continue to review and make maximum use of support resources from the Central Government and the province; at the same time, do a good job of social mobilization to maintain, repair and upgrade existing infrastructure. Priority will be given to completing the synchronous system of internal field roads and irrigation canals to create the best conditions for people to develop concentrated commodity production.
With many groundbreaking solutions, innovative approaches, and projects tailored to the local situation, infrastructure programs and projects have truly become important "leverage," helping ethnic minority people in Tri Phu commune to develop their economy and sustainably escape poverty. This will be a solid foundation and an important driving force for Tri Phu to continue striving to soon complete the criteria and bring the locality to the finish line of the new rural development program according to the set roadmap.
