On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), the 52nd anniversary of the official establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2025) and the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka coordinated with the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace to organize the thematic exhibition "President Ho Chi Minh - Symbol of the Era" in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture from May 28-29.
Attending the opening ceremony of the Exhibition, on the Japanese side, there were Mr. Hirotaka Inoue, Vice President of the Fukuoka-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union; Mr. Hoshino Hiroshi, President of the Kyushu-Vietnam Friendship Association; Mr. Hirano Shoji, Head of the International Committee of Fukuoka Prefecture; Mr. Kusuda Okura, Mayor of Daizafu City, Fukuoka Prefecture; Mr. Ootsuka Nobihiro, Mayor of Nogata City, Fukuoka Prefecture; Mr. Tanabe Kazuki, Mayor of Koga City, Fukuoka Prefecture, along with representatives of government agencies, organizations, associations, businesses from Fukuoka Prefecture and localities in the Kyushu region, and a large number of Japanese people.
On the side of foreign representative agencies, there were Mr. Duong Thanh Dong, Consul General of China in Fukuoka; Mr. Kosol Satithamajit, Consul General of Thailand in Fukuoka.
On the Vietnamese side, there were Ms. Vu Chi Mai, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka; Ms. Le Thi Phuong, Director of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace; Mr. Nguyen Duy Anh, Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Fukuoka, along with representatives of associations, businesses and Vietnamese people living and studying in Fukuoka.

In her opening speech, Ms. Le Thi Phuong, Director of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace, affirmed that the Exhibition is a special activity, aiming to introduce to the public and Japanese people as well as international friends valuable documents and images, reflecting truthfully and vividly the life, career, thoughts and feelings of President Ho Chi Minh - the great but extremely close and simple leader of the Vietnamese people.
The exhibition is also a clear demonstration of the effective cooperation between the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka and the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace. In the coming time, the two sides will continue to carry out many practical activities to contribute to bringing the image of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh's ideology closer to the Japanese people.

In her welcoming speech, Ms. Vu Chi Mai, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka affirmed that the Exhibition is a meaningful activity, not only to commemorate and honor President Ho Chi Minh - the outstanding leader of the Vietnamese people, but also to contribute to enhancing mutual understanding and promoting cultural exchange between the people of Vietnam and Japan.
Consul General Vu Chi Mai emphasized that today's exhibition will be a cultural bridge contributing to deepening the good friendship between the two countries - a relationship that has been, is and will continue to develop strongly in the coming time in many fields.
Ms. Vu Chi Mai believes that through the images and documents displayed at the exhibition, the Japanese public, especially the young generation, will have a more realistic and vivid perspective on President Ho Chi Minh, as well as on Vietnamese history and culture.
The Japanese guest representative, Mr. Hoshino Hiroshi, Chairman of the Kyushu-Vietnam Friendship Association, shared that this photo exhibition is an opportunity for us to recall the memories of President Ho Chi Minh, the great leader who led Vietnam in the 20th century and a precious opportunity for us to have a new look at his life and ideals. President Ho Chi Minh's spirit of fighting for "independence", "freedom", and "happiness" still resonates deeply in the hearts of every person around the world to this day.
Mr. Hoshino Hiroshi emphasized: “Currently, there are many Vietnamese people studying, working and doing business in Kyushu. Fukuoka Prefecture currently has the largest number of foreigners. The Vietnamese community has become an essential part of our local community. We hope that this photo exhibition will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen the exchange and cooperation between Vietnam and Kyushu in particular and Japan in general.”

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Fukuoka invited famous female artist Van Duong Thanh to attend and display her works about President Ho Chi Minh.
Painter Van Duong Thanh donated paintings of President Ho Chi Minh to the Exhibition. The paintings express the love and respect for Uncle Ho from the artist who builds a cultural bridge through painting.
Sharing with TG&VN , artist Van Duong Thanh said she has been working hard day and night to contribute to this meaningful exhibition.

The paintings with images of Uncle Ho holding a baby, Uncle Ho going on a border campaign or a simple and rustic thatched house in Sen village... all express the love and respect for Uncle Ho of the artist who built a cultural bridge through painting.
On this occasion, the female artist presented the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace with the oil painting "Thatched House in Kim Lien Village".

The exhibition “President Ho Chi Minh - Symbol of the Era” is one of the activities under the Project “Honoring President Ho Chi Minh, Hero of Vietnamese National Liberation, Outstanding Cultural Figure Abroad” implemented by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka in coordination with agencies, organizations and localities of Japan and Vietnam in 2025.
Through cultural and people-to-people exchange events organized by the Consulate General in recent years, the image of Vietnam and its people has been constantly consolidated and enhanced; contributing significantly to creating a stable and long-term living, studying and working environment for the Vietnamese community in the region, thereby actively contributing to the country's socio-economic development and strongly promoting the good friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.
