Inspired by the Thai folk song “Xong chu xon xao” (Farewell to the lover) - an epic about love, separation and reunion, the exhibition is the creative result of four artists Thu Tran, Tay Phong, Le Thi Minh Tam and Nguyen Tran Thao Nguyen. Through the language of painting, music and installation art, the artists recreate the journey of preserving memories, retelling the love story and honoring the beauty of the Thai woman's soul - gentle, loyal and strong.

The exhibition space features two traditional stilt roofs, inside of which hang 150 phums (a part of the Thai loom), along with 100 spindles, 5 large silk clusters abstractly painted on bright pink Oganza fabric, interwoven to create the symbol of the Silk Road. On the roof are 7 25m long rough fabric installations, painted and softly dropped from the roof to the floor, evoking the flow of memories, of the threads of love connecting the past with the present.

Taking place from October 9-12, the exhibition “Xong Chu Xon Xao” brought a lively and poetic art space to the heart of Tay Bac Square, attracting a large number of people and tourists to visit and experience. The highlight of the space is 17 abstract paintings with delicate colors, expressing a new perspective on Thai ethnic women - the preservers of the lifestyle, culture and soul of the Northwest mountains and forests.
