Lamborghini Urus supercar recalled in Vietnam.

TPO - According to an announcement from the Vietnam Register, the distributor of the Lamborghini brand in Vietnam is implementing a recall program for the Urus SUV to fix a defect related to the hood.

Specifically, a total of 24 Lamborghini Urus vehicles, including the Urus S and Urus Performante versions, are subject to the recall. All of these vehicles were manufactured between October 2022 and January 2024 at Lamborghini's factory in Italy.

Regarding the reason for the recall, the announcement from the Vietnam Registering and Inspection Department stated that on the affected Urus vehicles, the rivets securing the lower hood latch may not have been fully deformed during the manufacturing process.

Under certain operating conditions at high speeds above 150 km/h, this phenomenon can create a small gap between the hood and the front bumper. This gap can potentially increase over time, leading to the risk of the hood popping up, posing a safety hazard to the driver and surrounding vehicles.

Although the likelihood of an incident occurring in Vietnam is lower due to the maximum speed limit on highways being 120 km/h, the distributor is still proceeding with the recall to ensure the safety and rights of users.

The solution offered by the manufacturer is to inspect, tighten, or replace the locking mechanism, and install a reinforced locking latch (if necessary) to ensure safety.

The process will be carried out free of charge at all authorized Lamborghini dealerships and service stations in Vietnam from September 22, 2025 to June 30, 2026. The inspection and repair time is estimated to take approximately 1.4 hours per affected vehicle.

The Lamborghini Urus super SUV officially arrived in the Vietnamese market in November 2018. The Urus S and Urus Performante versions, upon their launch in 2023, had starting prices of VND 14.3 billion and VND 16.5 billion respectively.

By the end of 2024, the company officially launched the Urus SE version, which uses Plug-in Hybrid technology. This model has a starting price of 15.599 billion VND.
