Calling up 30 players to prepare for the 2025 CFA Team China International U16 Tournament

This tournament is meant to help the Vietnam U16 team review and evaluate their strength towards the main goal of the 2026 AFC U17 Qualifiers, so excellent players with development potential are given the opportunity to be included in the call-up list.

Most of the players summoned this time come from clubs and football training centers with good achievements in youth training such as: PVF, The Cong Viettel, Hanoi, Song Lam Nghe An, Ba Ria Vung Tau... Some prominent faces include goalkeeper Ly Xuan Hoa (Best goalkeeper of the 2024 National U15 Championship), striker Nguyen Van Duong (Best player and also the top scorer of the 2024 National U15 Championship), midfielder Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc - one of the key factors in the Vietnam U17 team at the recent 2025 AFC U17 Championship.

According to the plan, the Vietnam U16 team will continue training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center from May 10. It is expected that on May 23, the team will leave for Hohhot City (Inner Mongolia, China) to participate in the CFA Team China 2025 International U16 Tournament, taking place from May 28 to June 1, 2025.

With the participation of very high-quality U16 teams including Australia, Saudi Arabia and host China, the CFA Team China 2025 International U16 Tournament is considered a good competition and training opportunity for the Vietnam U16 team, not only in preparation for the 2026 AFC U17 Qualifiers but also to help young players have the opportunity to "test the waters" and progress faster in their skills when competing with top opponents on the continent.
