A video is being shared online attracting attention when a Liverpool fan unexpectedly became a customer of David Coote. The homeowner recorded the moment David Coote knocked on the door and left an item. Ironically, this fan is a Liverpool fan, the team that David Coote insulted.
The person who filmed the video said: “My husband was ordering a part for a car he was working on and recognised David Coote. He said, ‘I’m delivering it now’. I was like, ‘Oh my God, is that true? Is that the referee David Coote?’ My husband is a Liverpool fan and what David Coote said was not nice. It was his own downfall. David Coote got himself into this mess.”
David Coote is currently serving a 16-month UEFA suspension. While unemployed, he works for a courier company near his home. He said: “I want to get on with my life. I am doing what I want to do, focusing on what is important, like spending more time with friends and family. I am just trying to make an honest living.”

Friends have backed him. A source close to David Coote said: “David is a great guy who lost his career through stupidity, as he fully admits. Maybe we will see him back in the game at some point. And football definitely needs professionals like him.”
David Coote is probably the most infamous referee in the Premier League. He used insulting words towards Klopp and Liverpool. Not stopping there, a video appeared of him using cocaine at EURO 2024. The peak of David Coote's scandal was the suspicion of helping his friend win a football bet, then texting to ask for a share of the money. All of this led to him being fired by the Premier League and banned by UEFA for 16 months.
