In Golf Channel's prestigious list, Nguyen Anh Minh (Oregon State) is on par with four of the world's top talents: Kihei Akina (BYU), Michael Riebe (Vanderbilt), Logan Reilly (Auburn) and Henry Guan (Oklahoma State).
This is the first time a Vietnamese golfer has been so highly regarded right after entering NCAA Division I - the highest level of American college sports , which brings together top training programs and is considered the world's most competitive environment for global junior golf.
Anh Minh will officially play for the Oregon State University golf team this September. Golf Channel describes him as a “well-rounded rookie,” with a powerful drive, stable ball control, and a solid competitive spirit — qualities that will help him adapt quickly and explode in his first season in the US.
Golf Channel's expert emphasized: "Nguyen Anh Minh is not only the pride of Vietnamese golf but also one of the few international talents who possess enough qualities to compete fairly at NCAA."
Over the years, the name Nguyen Anh Minh has become familiar to Vietnamese golf fans thanks to a series of domestic and international achievements. Anh Minh's impressive list of achievements includes the 2022 National Golf Championship, the 2023 Faldo Series Asia Grand Final, the 2023 and 2024 Bonallack Trophy, the 2024 Nomura Cup individual and team championship, the 32nd SEA Games men's singles bronze medal and team silver medal...
Recently, the 18-year-old golfer won the runner-up position at the 2025 US Junior Amateur, becoming the first Vietnamese golfer to reach the finals of the prestigious junior tournament organized by the United States Golf Association (USGA).
The fact that Nguyen Anh Minh was ranked by Golf Channel as a notable rookie is not only a recognition of the talent and persistent efforts of Vietnam's number 1 golfer, but also opens a new door for Vietnamese golf to gradually move towards the goal of competing in major professional arenas in the near future.
