Port FC (Thailand) confirmed that midfielder Peeradon Chamratsamee will not join the ASEAN All-Stars team in the friendly match against Manchester United. The captain of the Thai team decided to withdraw due to personal reasons.

According to Siam Sports , Peeradon's wife has just given birth. Therefore, the Port FC star decided to cancel all plans to focus on taking care of his wife and children at home. Meanwhile, the remaining 3 Thai players, Worrachit Kanitsribampen, Ben Davis, and Patiwat Khammai, are still fully present in the Southeast Asian All-Star team.

Also on the morning of May 26, another ASEAN All-Stars player announced his withdrawal. That is Asnawi Mangkualam of the Indonesian team. The 25-year-old defender also plays for Port FC (Thailand) like Peeradon Chamratsamee. Asnawi Mangkualam's reason for withdrawal is different from his teammate at the club.

Port FC said the Indonesian defender wants to focus fully on the national team. The archipelago team will play the last two matches in the third qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia in early June (against China and Japan).

If they win just one of these two matches, the Indonesian team will qualify for the fourth qualifying round. Even Asnawi Mangkualam and his teammates still have a chance (in theory) to go straight to the 2026 World Cup finals.

The match between Man Utd and the Southeast Asian All-Stars team took place at Bukit Jalil Stadium (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) on the evening of May 28. The home team, coached by Mr. Kim Sang-sik, gathered the top stars of 11 Southeast Asian national teams.

Coach Kim Sang-sik brought the entire assistant team of the Vietnamese team to Malaysia to attend the match. In addition, the Vietnamese team has 4 representatives: Do Duy Manh, Nguyen Hai Long, Nguyen Van Vi and Nguyen Hoang Duc. Nguyen Quang Hai was initially selected but then withdrew because the Hanoi Police club had to play against Binh Duong on May 30 (round 23 make-up match).

The withdrawal of two Thai and Indonesian players close to the match day has affected coach Kim Sang-sik's calculations of the squad. The current number of players in the ASEAN All-Stars team is 16.
