As an exhibition area organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade , the “Start-up and Nation Building” space brings together many outstanding brands and creative ideas. In this space, the public has the opportunity to enjoy the art exhibition “Taking off from the roots”, along with the “Dong Dong” furniture collection.
With the theme “Taking off from the roots”, the creative furniture collection “Đông Đông” brings an inspiring design journey, connecting Vietnamese cultural identity and aspirations to reach further. This impressive product is made by LandFurniture, a member brand of Landco Corporation.
The entire exhibition space is realistically recreated on a terraced field background. This is a familiar image of the Vietnamese highlands, both a cultural symbol and opening up a multidimensional journey of discovery for the public.
The functional areas are located on the winding rice fields, leading visitors through each chapter of the story: from “Dong Dong” – the origin, to “Giao Thoa” – the connection and “Cat Phong” – where dreams take flight in a space imbued with the Vietnamese spirit.
Visiting the art exhibition “Taking off from the roots”, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Duong (residing in Cau Giay, Hanoi ) said: “Entering this space, I feel like I am returning to my childhood village. The smell of wood, the color of bamboo, the image of the kite flute… all have awakened memories that seemed to be dormant in me."

The architectural highlight throughout this space is the dome system designed with two contrasting but harmonious languages. The “Origin” dome has a solid appearance, with a surface that evokes the feeling of earth and stone, enveloping the display area of living room and bedroom products. Inside is a mural of a countryside landscape, creating a cozy, familiar space, like a complete Vietnamese home.
In contrast, the “Take Off” domes evoke a sense of lightness, lightness, and are shaped like slats or mesh, evoking the image of a kite in flight. These domes envelop the main products, creating a visual flow that tells the story of the transition from solid roots to soaring dreams.
Passing through the dome, the “Take-off” area is the first place visitors approach. The Kite Sofa is placed solemnly under the “Take-off” dome. The design of the sofa brings a feeling of flying and lightness. The gentle curves of the wooden frame, the hand-woven backrest from rattan and bamboo... all evoke the image of a kite filled with wind soaring in the sky.

Next is the “Intersection” area located in the center of the booth, where the Dong Dong dining table and tea table are displayed. This is where stories are told and relationships are nurtured. “Intersection” is a vivid present moment, an indispensable bridge between origin and aspiration.
Finally, the “Dong Dong” area located inside the booth, surrounded by the “Origin” dome, is the heart of the exhibition space, where a complete Vietnamese house is recreated, with a cozy living room and a private bedroom.
“We do not just bring a collection of furniture, but an emotional journey from the origin to the future. Therefore, the space 'Taking off from the origin' is designed as a symphony of memories and aspirations - where each product tells a story about Vietnamese people, about Vietnamese culture and about the dream of reaching out to the world from its own roots", General Director of Landco Corporation Pham Xuan Thiet shared.
The functional areas are located on the winding rice fields, leading visitors through each chapter of the story: from “Dong Dong” – the origin, to “Giao Thoa” – the connection and “Cat Phong” – where dreams take flight in a space imbued with the Vietnamese spirit.
According to Vice President of the Vietnam Handicraft Export Association (Vietcraft) Le Ba Ngoc, the appearance of the art exhibition "Taking off from the roots" at the National Achievement Exhibition "80 years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" not only demonstrates Vietnam's interior design and production capacity, but also affirms that: Vietnamese brands can completely reach the international level, bringing national identity to friends around the world.
