On the morning of July 28, Mr. Nguyen Cong Long, General Director of Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), said that the Ho Chi Minh City Air Traffic Control Center - a key project of the Ministry of Transport - had its topping-out ceremony. The joint venture contractor is pouring concrete for the roof slab of the 6th floor of the administration building.
Ho Chi Minh City Air Traffic Control Center was built under emergency orders from the Ministry of Transport.
The new Air Traffic Control Center project has a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND, and will start construction in February 2024 under the urgent construction order of the Ministry of Transport.
To date, the contractor has exceeded the scheduled progress by 53 days compared to the expected time frame when signing the contract.
At the construction site, the AP contractor consortium mobilized more than 100 workers and many motorbikes to work busily even though it was a holiday.
Next to the main building, the technical station for power source, water supply pump and fire protection system has also been basically completed.
It is expected that the entire construction and structural equipment will be completed on April 18, 2025.
The installation of specialized flight management equipment will be completed in December 2025.

The new air traffic control center in Ho Chi Minh City will provide services to ensure air traffic control, flight monitoring, information, aviation communications, air traffic flow management, etc. for all civil and military transport flights.
In addition, this center also ensures other specialized flight activities such as VIP flights, emergency flights, surveying and mapping flights... and the entire Ho Chi Minh City flight information region (FIR/HCM), the southern airspace from the 17th parallel onwards.
Mr. Cao Tung Lam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phuc Hung Holdings, representative of the contractor consortium, said that with the spirit of "overcoming the sun and overcoming the rain" as directed by the Prime Minister, the contractor consortium organized construction day and night, including Saturdays and Sundays.
Phuc Hung Holdings is also a member of the Vietur consortium that won the bid for package 5.10 "Long Thanh International Airport Passenger Terminal" with a value of more than 35,800 billion VND.
