He affirmed the great contributions of the Vietnamese revolutionary press to the glorious cause of the Party and the nation throughout history.

Regarding Ho Chi Minh City, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission assessed that Ho Chi Minh City has done well in press work, is a locality with many vibrant press activities, many bright spots, many good models in communication work, especially new issues of public interest.
In the new context and situation, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission raised the issue of the new mission and vision of the press. He suggested that the press continue to promote the mission of revolutionary journalism, affirm its role and position, arouse and spread the spirit of patriotism, national pride, and promote the great national unity bloc.
Emphasizing that revolutionary journalism in the new era must be associated with science and technology and digital transformation, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission stated that this is a very important issue, and press agencies must definitely innovate strongly.
In 2025, the country is facing a new opportunity, a new era is opening. The revolution to reorganize the state apparatus in the direction of "streamlining, efficiency, effectiveness, and efficiency" is being carried out methodically and drastically. For the press, this is also the time to reorganize, streamline the apparatus and promote the role of key press agencies.

Regarding the proposed ideas on the press association model, he suggested that Ho Chi Minh City press agencies should be proactive and bold in proposing pilot models and perfecting policies, especially in the context of the new government model coming into operation from July 1. He assigned the agencies of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission to coordinate with relevant agencies to unify the model and guide press agencies to organize implementation.
Expressing his gratitude and deep affection to the press agencies and the press staff, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen affirmed that the press has contributed to the development of the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular over the past time. He shared that the press staff has been dedicated, willing to sacrifice and has shown many outstanding examples throughout the 100-year journey of Vietnam's revolutionary press.

The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee expressed his hope that press agencies would reposition themselves, maintain their brands, promote their fighting spirit, constructiveness and responsible actions, worthy of the trust of the Party Committee, government and people of the city. Ho Chi Minh City will continue to be committed, fully responsible, and create conditions for the press to fulfill its mission and role in the new development stage.
Need a special mechanism for Ho Chi Minh City press
Reporting on the arrangement of press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tang Huu Phong said that in phase 1, Ho Chi Minh City has arranged from 27 press agencies to 19 press agencies. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has 18 active press agencies and 1 press agency has temporarily stopped operating.

The transfer of the governing bodies of press agencies to the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee is carried out in sync with the roadmap for arranging the city's press agencies and reorganizing the apparatus at press agencies.
The Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee is considering a suitable arrangement plan to submit to competent authorities for decision and implementation in sync with the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units.
Speaking at the meeting, journalist Le The Chu, Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper, suggested that the upcoming press planning should create stability, development and especially retain newspapers with big brands. At the same time, he proposed that there should be a specific mechanism for Ho Chi Minh City press, and soon clarify the press association model with a clear legal basis, suitable for practice.

Referring to digital transformation, journalist Le The Chu commented that this is the future of journalism but there is still much work to be done. He suggested that more policies are needed to support capital, provide specialized training, and share technology and security infrastructure so that journalism can better perform its tasks.
Similarly, Mr. Truong Thanh Phong, Acting Director of the Radio and Television Station of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, proposed that Ho Chi Minh City needs a special mechanism to pilot the press complex model.
According to him, the goal is to ensure that press and radio operations are not disrupted after the reorganization, to create conditions for stable operations in the beginning, and to find the most suitable model. This is a “golden opportunity” to create a more modern and effective press model.

Discussing the press model, Mr. Luu Dinh Phuc, Director of the Press Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that in the new context, press agencies need to adapt to new development models.
With a large scale like Ho Chi Minh City, according to the Director of the Press Department, if we continue to follow the plan until there is only one newspaper and radio station left, it will not be suitable for the reality of a special urban area. Therefore, a new model is being proposed to ensure sustainable development.

Currently, the model of "corporation" or "press consortium" is being studied, with the principle of not spreading, needing to be piloted and considering appropriate names. This model allows each affiliated press agency to have its own principles and purposes, while the core unit plays a general management role.
The goal is to streamline but still retain major brands, aiming to bring press agencies under the management of the City Party Committee. The Director of the Press Department said that many press agencies have agreed with this model. It is expected that the model will be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration at the upcoming session in October 2025.
SGGP Newspaper strives to be worthy of being the main political press agency of Ho Chi Minh City.
Journalist Nguyen Khac Van, Deputy Editor-in-Chief in charge of SGGP Newspaper, said that in response to the requirement to reorganize press, radio and television agencies, SGGP Newspaper proactively streamlined its apparatus, arranged internally, and was ready to merge with other units to build a modern, unified, multi-platform press unit.
In today's digital age, a press agency is no longer a place, but a flexible digital platform, where every step - from collection, processing, publishing to distribution - is digitized and optimized thanks to AI, Big Data, Blockchain technology... Journalist Nguyen Khac Van believes that press agencies can hardly do this and need to strategically cooperate with large, reliable technology and media corporations to be both technically modern and ensure political, security, and information safety.
Journalist Nguyen Van Khac said that in the coming time, SGGP Newspaper will build a Center for research - training - application of modern journalism technology, and build an intelligent operating system to help coordinate the entire activities of the press agency.
The press not only reports news but also guides ideology, inspires development, and protects the Party's ideological foundation in a multi-dimensional media environment. SGGP Newspaper is committed to continuing to innovate, professionalize, and maintain its political and professional identity, striving to be worthy of being the leading political press agency of Ho Chi Minh City.
