On September 10th, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Office issued a notice summarizing the conclusions of Comrade Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, at a working session on the restructuring of Ho Chi Minh City's press agencies.
Accordingly, the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee concluded by acknowledging and highly appreciating the contributions of media agencies to the construction and development of Ho Chi Minh City over the past period.
The implementation of the restructuring of press agencies, in accordance with the Party's general policy, aims to streamline the organizational structure, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the leading role of Ho Chi Minh City's press in information and propaganda work, effectively fulfilling political tasks and developing Ho Chi Minh City in the new period.

During the restructuring process, the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee requested relevant agencies to continue researching, considering, and finding solutions to maintain the brand and role of traditional media outlets in the city in accordance with the policies and regulations.
At the same time, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Party Committee, and relevant agencies and units are tasked with closely following the Central Committee's directives and the conclusions of the City Party Standing Committee to urgently complete the arrangement and merger of radio and television stations (Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television Station, Binh Duong Radio and Television Station, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Radio and Television Station) and the arrangement and transfer of functions and tasks of Binh Duong Newspaper and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper to Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper; to be completed before September 14th.
In addition, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee is tasked with presiding over and coordinating with relevant agencies to fully incorporate the opinions of agencies, units, and meeting participants; thoroughly review the contents and, based on relevant regulations, propose additions and improvements to the Ho Chi Minh City press restructuring plan, ensuring it is rigorous and compliant with regulations; adjust the plan's name to align with the central government's guidelines and regulations; and compile a report for submission to the competent authority for consideration and feedback.
Simultaneously, carefully prepare the content, clarify difficulties and obstacles, assess the current state of existing legal regulations and the practical arrangement of press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City to coordinate and reach consensus with the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation, and relevant agencies when participating in providing feedback and proposing amendments and additions to Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly on special mechanisms and policies for Ho Chi Minh City and amending and supplementing the Law on Press regarding contents related to the organizational model of press and broadcasting agencies to suit the practical and specific characteristics of Ho Chi Minh City.
Earlier, on September 6th, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Tran Luu Quang chaired a meeting to hear a report on the restructuring of Ho Chi Minh City's media agencies. The meeting was also attended by leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, leaders of various departments and agencies of Ho Chi Minh City, and representatives of Ho Chi Minh City's media agencies.
