On June 3, the University of Technology (UET), Vietnam National University, Hanoi announced that in 2025 it will enroll 4,020 full-time university students, an increase of 1,060 students compared to last year.
This year, the school opened 4 new majors/training programs, including data science (data science and engineering program); electronic and telecommunications engineering technology oriented towards microchip design; materials technology (materials and microelectronics technology program); biotechnology (bioengineering technology program).
The University of Technology recruits students based on four methods: direct admission without quota limit; based on high school graduation exam scores; based on Hanoi National University's (HSA) aptitude test scores; and based on SAT international standardized test results.
For the high school graduation exam scores, the school considers two new combinations with computer science subjects, including X26 (math, English, IT), X06 (math, physics, IT).
In addition, consider 4 similar combinations from last year, including A00 (math, physics, chemistry); A01 (math, physics, English); B00 (math, chemistry, biology) - for agricultural technology, biotechnology; D01 (math coefficient 2, literature, English).
The University of Technology notes that from 2026, the school will not use the D01 combination in regular university admissions.
This year, the school allows candidates with international English certificates (IELTS Academic or TOEFL iBT) to convert into English subject scores for use in the admission combination according to the following table:
The University of Technology expects tuition fees for 2025-2026 for 20 majors/training programs to range from 34-40 million VND/year, with most majors/training programs having stable tuition fees compared to last year.
Two majors have tuition fees increasing by about 8 million VND/year, including agricultural technology; control engineering and automation.
Last year, the admission score based on high school graduation exam scores ranged from 22.5 to 27.8 points, with information technology having the highest score and agricultural technology having the lowest score.
Tuition fees for the 2025 - 2026 school year are expected as follows:
