The seminar "Connecting Schools with Enterprises: Training linked to practice" recently organized by the University of Electricity has provided useful information, partly solving the concerns of students as well as businesses today.
Training linked to practice
Faced with the increasing demands of the labor market in the digital age and the trend of green and sustainable economic development, high-quality human resources are playing a decisive role in the growth strategies of enterprises. In that context, the University of Electricity has implemented many solutions to improve the quality of training in the direction of combining theory with practice to equip students with the best luggage upon graduation.
Accordingly, the school regularly invites experts from businesses to participate in teaching to provide the latest information and techniques to improve the qualifications of lecturers and students.
At the same time, we study the needs and desires of businesses in implementing training cooperation to build output standards that can meet the specific requirements of businesses. In addition, the school also actively implements processes and seminars to collect opinions from businesses to improve training programs related to cooperation content.

At the seminar, businesses shared about their needs and requirements in the recruitment process and the level of response from current students.
According to Deputy Director of MobiFone Hanoi 2, MobiFone Service Company Region 1 Trinh Khac Thang: “Mobifone is in the top 100 enterprises with the best working environment, every year we recruit many new students, including many students from the University of Electricity. Most of the students are equipped with professional knowledge and have confidence, this proves that the current universities, especially the University of Electricity, have a very systematic training program, combining theoretical training with practice so that students have practical experience before graduating”.
However, according to Mr. Thang, new graduates still have many limitations such as lack of experience; many students lack communication skills to quickly get acquainted with the environment and integrate into the culture of each business.
Therefore, Mr. Thang believes that schools need to focus on solving this problem by connecting more deeply with businesses so that students can intern longer at businesses to have the opportunity to interact and experience, thereby being able to practice more skills and gain more experience.

According to Nguyen Viet Phuong, Market Director of Asia Sun Investment Joint Stock Company, when evaluating a candidate, the company will evaluate through experience; skills, professional capacity; and attitude.
Of these three factors, skills and professional capacity are the things that the school will certainly fully equip students with. Experience is something that students must practice over the years. Attitude towards work and the collective is one of the important factors to decide whether students can survive and develop in a unit.
Mr. Phuong affirmed: “In addition to being progressive and eager to learn, students need to practice critical thinking to protect their personal opinions if they are good ideas that benefit the collective. In addition, always think positively to learn from colleagues and not suffer from culture shock when joining any unit or business.”
