Method 1 : direct admission, direct admission, priority admission and early admission according to the school's admission plan with 45% of total enrollment target
Subject 1, direct admission, direct admission, priority given to candidates who are "directly admitted" according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training . The time of winning the prize is not more than 3 years according to regulations of the Ministry and have graduated from high school in 2024.
Specifically as follows: Literature, Math and English for Administration - Law, Business Administration, Law, International Trade Law and English Language majors; Japanese and French for Law majors; Physics for Administration - Law, Business Administration, Law and International Trade Law majors; Chemistry for Administration - Law, Business Administration, Law majors; History for Law and English Language majors; Geography for Law majors.
Subject 2, early admission for candidates with international language certificates in English, French or Japanese. If these certificates have a term limit, they must be valid until June 30, 2024.
For English, IELTS score of 5.5 or higher (issued by British Council (BC) or International Development Program (IDP); or TOEFL iBT score of 65 or higher (issued by Educational Testing Service (ETS).
For French, only for Law, DELF certificate with level B1 or higher or TCF certificate with score of 300 or higher/skill or higher. These two certificates must be issued by the International Pedagogical Research Center (Centre International d'Etudes Pedagogiques - CIEP).
For Japanese, only for Law majors, JLPT certificate from N3 level or higher (issued by Japan Foundation (JF), in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test).
Third, the average score of 5 high school semesters (including grade 10, grade 11 and semester 1 of grade 12) of 3 subjects in the registered admission group has a total score of 22.5 or higher.
When there are more candidates who meet the above conditions than the total quota of method 1, the school will consider admission in the following order of priority: Score of International Foreign Language Certificate; Average score of 5 high school semesters of 3 subjects in the admission group; Average score of 5 high school semesters of the main subject in the admission group; for group D00, the main subject is Literature.
Subject 3, early admission, candidates studying at specialized high schools, gifted high schools and high schools with the highest average score in the High School Graduation Exam according to the List of "High schools prioritized for early admission in 2024 of Ho Chi Minh City National University".
Candidates must satisfy the following conditions: have graduated from high school; must have studied for 3 years at schools listed in the "List of high schools with priority for early admission in 2024 of Ho Chi Minh City National University"; Have academic results of each year of grade 10, grade 11 and grade 12 classified as excellent and have an average score of 24.5 or higher for the 3 years of high school; Have an average score of 5 semesters of high school (including grade 10, grade 11 and semester 1 of grade 12) of 3 subjects in the registered admission group with a total score of 24.5 or higher.
When there are more candidates who meet the above conditions than the total quota of method 1, the school will consider admission in the following order of priority: Average score of the 3 years of high school, Grade 10, Grade 11 and Grade 12; Average score of 5 high school semesters of 3 subjects in the admission group; Average score of 5 high school semesters of the main subject in the admission group; for Group D00, the main subject is Literature.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Law stipulates that candidates who have registered for admission under the method of "direct admission, direct admission, priority admission" (ie registered under category 1) are not allowed to register under the method of "early admission" (ie not allowed to register under category 2 and category 3). Candidates who are eligible to register for admission under category 2 and category 3 are entitled to register for both categories. Candidates in category 1 are allowed to register for a maximum of 5 wishes; candidates in category 2 and category 3 are allowed to register for an unlimited number of wishes; wishes of candidates registering for admission to the school's training programs under method 1 are ranked in order from 1 to the end.
Method 2 , admission based on high school graduation exam results in 2024 with 55% of total target
Candidates register their admission wishes online on the Ministry's system or on the national public service portal within the time limit prescribed by the Ministry. Candidates are not limited or restricted in the number of wishes and the number of times they can adjust their wishes when registering for admission.
The school does not use the results of the exemption from the foreign language exam in the 2024 High School Graduation Exam and does not use the exam scores in the National High School Exam and High School Graduation Exams of previous years for admission consideration.
Admission scores are determined according to the registered wishes “from high to low until the quota is full” so that the number of candidates recruited for each major is consistent with the announced quota and is not lower than the “input quality assurance threshold”; admission scores are considered equally, based only on the admission score, regardless of the priority order of the registered wishes; no secondary criteria are used to select successful candidates (in case there are many candidates with the same admission score at the end of the list). Admission scores are determined by major and by each group of subjects for admission.

In case the enrollment quota for method 1 is not full (or there is an excess enrollment quota, not exceeding 5%), the remaining enrollment quota will be transferred to method 2 (or the enrollment quota of method 2 will be adjusted to correspond to the excess enrollment quota of method 1, not exceeding 5%).
