Leading the trend
In line with the Government 's orientation on developing the semiconductor industry, Quy Nhon University has proactively implemented new majors such as: Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, Technical Physics, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology. These majors focus on training fundamental knowledge of semiconductor materials, chip manufacturing techniques, MEMS technology and modern manufacturing processes.
This is one of the few semiconductor training programs in Vietnam that integrates technology practice, aiming to provide a team of engineers to meet the recruitment requirements of high-tech industrial parks and R&D factories in the country and the region.
Dr. Le Xuan Vinh, Head of the Department of University Training (Quy Nhon University) informed that according to Decision 1731/QD-UBND of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province (old) approving the project on human resource development for the semiconductor industry, from now until 2030, we aim to train about 7,500 engineers in the above fields. Of which, 4,000 engineers are in the semiconductor industry, 2,000 engineers in the field of artificial intelligence and applied AI technology, 1,000 engineers in the field of network safety and security, and system security.
In addition to new training, the project also focuses on improving the capacity of existing human resources, by fostering expertise, changing professions, and retraining staff currently working in related industries.
“Within the framework of the project, we will also enroll and train many bridging and major conversion programs for students studying engineering, information technology, physics, etc. to flexibly meet the needs of the labor market,” said Dr. Le Xuan Vinh.

Not only implementing majors that keep up with technology trends, Quy Nhon University also builds a learning ecosystem closely connected with domestic and foreign technology enterprises.
Through cooperation programs with businesses, research centers, software parks and startups, students have the opportunity to study in a real-world environment, while also gaining early access to the latest technology platforms in the industry.
To ensure the quality of training and the application capacity of learners, the school invests in expanding high-tech laboratories, building an applied AI center and developing an online practice system, thereby helping students shorten the gap between theory and practice.
At the same time, the school implements an academic advisory program, connects experts, organizes national and international internships, contributing to career orientation and developing interdisciplinary capacity for students right from the first year.
Many support policies
To create favorable learning conditions, Quy Nhon University applies many preferential policies specifically for students studying the above majors such as: Scholarships and financial support, especially for students in remote areas, students with difficult circumstances, and good academic performance.
During the study process, students will be given the opportunity to intern at businesses, cooperate with technology companies, large domestic and foreign corporations, and high-tech industrial parks. Thereby, helping students to soon approach the real working environment.
The school also organizes student research programs, academic competitions, and AI innovations to help students develop comprehensive skills. In addition, the school also cooperates extensively with businesses to build a human resource development roadmap and a learning-practice-startup model according to international standards.

Dr. Dinh Anh Tuan, Vice Principal of Quy Nhon University, shared that after more than 47 years of establishment and development, Quy Nhon University has become a prestigious highereducation institution in the Central Highlands region and the whole country.
Currently, the school has a training scale of 51 undergraduate majors, 28 postgraduate majors with a team of nearly 500 lecturers, of which more than 81% have doctoral degrees, many teachers are professors, associate professors, and excellent teachers. Over the years, the school has trained high-quality human resources, not only serving the region but also contributing to national development.
2025 is a special year when the school is entrusted by the new Gia Lai provincial leaders with the task of training human resources in key areas such as semiconductor industry, artificial intelligence, safety and network security. This is not only a new responsibility, but also an opportunity for the school to affirm its role in implementing strategies for developing higher education in line with practical needs.
Not only assigning the task of training high-quality human resources, the locality also supports the school by investing 100 billion VND in developing high-tech infrastructure, supporting the establishment of an experimental center, accompanying communications and connecting businesses.
“It can be said that there are few higher education institutions that receive the trust and direct, continuous and large-scale support that Quy Nhon University has. This is not only a source of pride, but also a great responsibility. We are committed to making maximum efforts with departments, sectors, businesses and universities in the system to realize high-tech human resource development projects in the coming period,” affirmed Dr. Dinh Anh Tuan.
With the advantage of having the first science urban area in Vietnam, the ICISE Center, the Science Space Complex and the Creative Valley under formation, Quy Nhon University plays an important role in developing the knowledge ecosystem of the central region.
Opening up the semiconductor, AI and cybersecurity industries not only meets the practical requirements of the country, but also contributes to building a strategic workforce for the national digital, high-tech and innovation value chain in the coming time.
