TRA VINH UNIVERSITY A bright spot in innovation and entrepreneurship

Each successful project not only brings economic value, but also spreads the entrepreneurial spirit, contributing to the formation of a new generation of dynamic, creative and courageous entrepreneurs.

Projects that conquer investors

At the graduation ceremony of the Startup Academy (course V) held at the Provincial Business Incubator of Tra Vinh University (TVU), 7 typical startup projects were presented to the investment council.

As a result, 5 projects successfully called for capital, of which 2 projects received direct investment of about 1.4 billion VND (1 project of 1 billion VND and 1 project of 400 million VND); 1 project is negotiating an investment capital of 350 million VND; the "360 Consignment Cow" project received in-kind investment with 100 fattened cows and 1 project decided to sell the enterprise to investors for 1.3 billion VND, but still kept 30% of shares and management rights. The "360 Consignment Cow" project successfully called for capital, aiming to build a modern, effective and sustainable livestock model.

Expected to be deployed in Long Duc ward, operating in the first phase of completing bio-safety barns, installing compost pits, treating waste, growing grass, fermenting food and utilizing agricultural by-products to reduce costs and proactively source nutrients.

Investment form, first test raising 10-20 pigs to evaluate the health and efficiency of the model. Then, reinvest to expand the scale and improve the feed mixing technique, gradually developing a sustainable linkage model. Next, produce organic fertilizer from cow manure to serve grass and fruit tree growing, aiming for a circular model and building a stable output linkage. Finally, summarize the results of 1 year and build a plan for year 2 with the goal of expanding the scale, upgrading the barn and developing sustainably.

The project “Clean crabs - guaranteed live, guaranteed to be eaten” of Muscle Crab Company Limited (Long Thanh commune) also successfully raised 1 billion VND for 5 muscle crab store chains (5% shares for 1 muscle crab store, 5 stores are 25%). The project aims to provide high quality crabs, committed to selling crabs without counting the rope, guaranteed live on-site - guaranteed to eat each crab, ensuring prestige and transparency for customers. The investment capital is used to standardize the management process, develop the system and expand the clean crab brand.

“Currently, the enterprise consumes 50kg of crab/day, the average selling price is 350,000 VND/kg, the revenue is 450 million VND/month, the profit is 12% (54 million VND/month). The project calls for 300 million VND for 10% of shares, looking for investors with experience in chain store management to restructure, expand the scale and enhance the brand. The enterprise focuses on building its own brand, registering exclusive rights, participating in the OCOP program and gradually opening a chain of offline stores to bring clean crab products to consumers" - Mr. Tran Minh Nhat - Director of Muscle Crab Company Limited shared.

Nguyen Van Vu An - Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship - TVU affirmed: The Demo Day event not only marks an important step forward in TVU's efforts to build a startup ecosystem, but also opens up opportunities to connect students with investors, promoting the realization of potential startup projects, aiming to call for capital and develop sustainable business models.

For the first time, a business incubator under a university in the Mekong Delta organized a fundraising program with impressive results. The results of 5 successful fundraising projects at Demo Day 2025 created a strong ripple effect in the community, affirming TVU's pioneering role in building an innovation ecosystem in the Southern region, where ideas are nurtured and turned into practical business models. TVU's support programs - from training, consulting, to product commercialization - are gradually closing the startup value chain, helping businesses not only stop at ideas but also reach out to the market, attracting real investment resources.

Developing the startup ecosystem

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa - TVU President emphasized: This is a positive signal, proving that TVU has the right orientation and achieved an important milestone in the journey of building a startup ecosystem. To maintain and promote the two fundamental stages of incubating ideas and training entrepreneurial capacity, in the near future there will be more businesses growing from the Provincial Business Incubator, actively contributing to the startup movement in the Mekong Delta region.

At the same time, TVU has also achieved many outstanding achievements in education and research. To date, there are 27 training programs that have been internationally accredited, including FIBAA (Europe), AUN-QA (Southeast Asia) and ABET (USA). This is a testament to the quality and reputation of training, expanding international study, exchange and employment opportunities for students. TVU has continuously risen in the WURI Ranking, being in the Top 100 most innovative and influential universities in the world, ranked 29/400 in 2025, up 13 places compared to 2024.

For many consecutive years, TVU has maintained its position in the Top 200 Universities with a green educational environment - sustainable development according to UI GreenMetric Ranking and for 3 consecutive years (2022-2024) has been honored with the Outstanding Digital Transformation Award.

These achievements not only affirm TVU's academic position and international reputation, but also create a solid foundation for the school to continue developing a regional and global startup ecosystem.
