Bringing the sentiments of the mainland to Truong Sa.
In anticipation of the 70th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Economic Police Force (August 10, 1956 - August 10, 2026), on the morning of April 19, at Cam Ranh Naval Base (Khanh Hoa province), a delegation from the Economic Police Department, consisting of 24 officers representing nearly 400 officers and soldiers of the unit, led by Colonel Dao Hong Son, Deputy Director, along with accompanying units, began a journey to visit and encourage officers and soldiers working and people on the Truong Sa archipelago, Khanh Hoa province, and the DK1 platform.

Before departure, the delegation respectfully offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed for the cause of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands at the Gac Ma Martyrs Memorial Area. After a 7-day voyage, covering more than 1,000 nautical miles, the delegation visited and encouraged officers, soldiers, and the people living on 7 islands: Song Tu Tay, Da Lon B, Sinh Ton, Tien Nu, Nui Le C, Truong Sa Dong, Truong Sa Lon, and the DK1/18 (Phuc Tan) platform.
Throughout the trip, the delegation organized many meaningful activities such as a competition to learn about the sea and islands; a ceremony commemorating the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Gac Ma sea area and the southern continental shelf; and exchange programs, visits, and encouragement for officers, soldiers, and people on the islands.
Upon arriving at the islands, the delegation visited, met with, and presented many practical gifts to the officers and soldiers of the forces on duty and the local people, contributing to further strengthening their confidence and motivation to overcome difficulties and successfully complete their tasks. The delegation also offered incense at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House, the Monument to the Heroes and Martyrs, and attended the flag-raising ceremony on Truong Sa Lon Island.
An invaluable lesson about patriotism.
As one of the young delegates of the Economic Police Department, Major Nguyen Ba Hai, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Department, shared: "In my eyes, the Truong Sa Sea is not just an endless expanse of blue, but also a place where each wave seems to touch the heart, evoking the deepest emotions."

“Especially when I arrived at Sinh Ton Island, I couldn't help but be moved by the sight of the lush green trees stretching towards the vast ocean, bathed in sunlight and wind. I saw life still strongly present, like a miracle. The firm handshakes, the simple greetings, the genuine laughter made me feel like I was standing in the middle of a large family. At that moment, I felt more clearly than ever that Truong Sa is not far away, but very close in the heartbeat of every Vietnamese person,” said Major Nguyen Ba Hai.
Colonel Ho Trong Hieu, Head of Department 4 - a unit awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, expressed his emotion and pride upon setting foot on Da Lon B Island. Colonel Ho Trong Hieu stated that, standing on the island and witnessing firsthand the living and working conditions amidst the harsh conditions of the waves, he deeply understood the hardships that the soldiers are enduring day and night. Surrounded by the waves, the silent sacrifices of the soldiers on the front lines are a beautiful symbol of the unwavering will and fervent patriotism of the Ho Chi Minh Army, of the Navy soldiers in the new era.
“The soldiers not only protect sovereignty, but also serve as a solid support for fishermen venturing out to sea. The unwavering loyalty of the Navy soldiers is a source of inspiration and an invaluable lesson in patriotism that every police officer, including those in the Economic Police force, should engrave in their hearts and transform into responsibility in carrying out their duties in the mainland,” Colonel Ho Trong Hieu shared.

Reflecting on the responsibilities of the home front from the perspective of Truong Sa.
Colonel Dao Hong Son affirmed that this trip to the Truong Sa archipelago and the DK1 platform held particularly profound significance for the delegation from the Economic Police Department and accompanying units. During the voyage to visit seven islands and one platform, the delegation organized gift-giving and visits to the forces on duty, officers, soldiers, and local people. These activities demonstrated the affection and gratitude of the Economic Police force in particular, and the People's Public Security force in general, towards the military and people on the front lines protecting the sacred sovereignty of the nation's seas and islands.
According to Colonel Dao Hong Son, this trip is even more special as it takes place during the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, and the 51st anniversary of the liberation of the Truong Sa archipelago. This is not only an activity to visit and encourage, but also a connection of feelings, bringing warmth and faith from the Party Committee, the leadership of the Department, and all officers, Party members, and soldiers of the Economic Police Department to the military and people on the Truong Sa archipelago. Colonel Dao Hong Son believes that the indomitable spirit and will of the soldiers on the front lines have strongly motivated the members of the delegation.

“The image of soldiers holding their weapons firmly amidst the vast ocean serves as an example for every officer on the mainland to emulate, thereby striving to better fulfill their responsibilities and duties, making positive contributions to the cause of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety. This journey is not only a support from the home front, but also a testament to the strength of unity and unwavering faith in the will of the officers, soldiers, and people on the Truong Sa archipelago to protect national sovereignty,” Colonel Dao Hong Son expressed.
