Dong Hoa Secondary School: Improving the quality of teaching and learning

Implementing Conclusion 01 dated May 18, 2021 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive 05 dated May 15, 2016 of the Politburo on "Promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle", in recent times, Dong Hoa Secondary School, Chau Thanh District, Tien Giang Province has had many initiatives and good practices that have contributed to spreading the message among all staff, teachers and students, thereby contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning.

MANY GOOD WAYS

The Party Cell of Dong Hoa Secondary School has 13 party members, accounting for 54% of the total number of cadres and teachers of the school. In order for the study and following of Uncle Ho's teachings to create a widespread effect, the Party Cell of the school has proactively developed an implementation plan and deployed documents of all levels for cadres and teachers of the school in meetings such as the Pedagogical Council and Party Cell. Since the beginning of the year, the Party Cell and the School Board of Directors have specified and selected key contents and required cadres and teachers to register to implement specific contents related to professional work.

At the same time, the Party Cell, the Executive Committee, and the School Board of Directors have required Party members, teachers, and staff to actively and voluntarily perform their duties in teaching, have a sense of responsibility in all positions and work positions, and complete assigned tasks well; maintain the moral qualities and lifestyle of a teacher. The Party Cell has deployed and thoroughly implemented periodic activities.

In the past 2 years, the school's Party Cell has promoted the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, with 100% of teachers and Party members participating in propagating thematic content to students through practical actions such as: Practicing thrift, fighting waste, Uncle Ho's Five Teachings... Through homeroom meetings, flag salutes, and propaganda through "A story about Uncle Ho every week", the "Telling Uncle Ho's Stories" contest has contributed to raising awareness among students in the whole school.

IMPROVE QUALITY

With constant efforts and active innovation in teaching content and methods, over the past time, Dong Hoa Secondary School has achieved many outstanding achievements, contributing positively to the development of education in the province.

Party Cell Secretary, Vice Principal in charge of Dong Hoa Secondary School Nguyen Cong Tuan said that in the process of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, the school's Party Cell, professional group leaders, and the Trade Union Executive Committee are always the pioneers in propagating, raising awareness, and proposing action programs in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle. The Youth Union Command Board and class cadres are always at the forefront of plans, small-scale movements of the Youth Union, and the school's learning movements.

With the close attention of local authorities and authorities, the school's staff and teachers have strived, trained, improved their pedagogical skills, and comprehensively innovated their facilities. Up to now, Dong Hoa Secondary School has achieved commendable achievements. In the 2022-2023 school year, the whole school has 488 students in 4 grades; 24 staff, teachers and employees, of which over 95% of teachers have qualified and above-standard qualifications; many teachers have achieved the title of excellent teachers at all levels, with innovative experiences.

In teaching and learning, the school has made great efforts to implement the 2018 General Education Program, innovate teaching methods, promote capacity, and enhance life skills for students. Over the years, the school's teaching staff has had many innovations and initiatives that have brought high efficiency in management, teaching and learning.

Thanks to the efforts to overcome difficulties, in the 2022-2023 school year, the rate of students with excellent and fair academic performance of the school reached over 78%; over 93% of students achieved good conduct; the rate of students graduating from junior high school each year reached 100%; many students won excellent student awards at the district and provincial levels in cultural subjects, science and technology innovation competitions, etc.
