On the morning of November 9th, Hong Linh High School (Bac Hong Linh Ward, Ha Tinh Province) held a ceremony to celebrate its 40th anniversary (1985 – 2025).
Attending the ceremony were Major General Doan Xuan Buong – Political Commissar of Military Region 4; Mr. Ha Van Hung – Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of departments, agencies, and localities, along with a large number of former and current staff, teachers, and students of the school.
Established in August 1985 by Decision No. 1544 of the People's Committee of Nghe Tinh Province, Hong Linh High School entered its first academic year with 258 students in 7 classes (4 classes of grade 10 and 3 classes of grade 11). Despite many shortcomings, the school's teaching staff strived to improve, gradually building a strong reputation and establishing a good standing within the local education sector.
Thanks to the attention of the Party Committee, the government, and the people, the school's scale has been continuously expanded, and its facilities have been invested in to become spacious and modern. In 2020, in accordance with the Decision of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province, Hong Lam High School merged with Hong Linh High School – marking an important turning point and opening a new phase of development.
From a school that faced many difficulties in student recruitment, it has implemented groundbreaking solutions, gradually establishing its brand and position within the province's general education system.
To date, Hong Linh High School has 39 classes with over 1,400 students; a team of qualified and dedicated teachers and staff; and a friendly and dynamic learning environment. The overall quality of education is constantly improving, with a 100% graduation rate for many consecutive years.
From this school, many generations of teachers and students have contributed to upholding its glorious tradition. The school has 3 teachers who have been awarded the title of Excellent Teacher , 16 students who have won prizes in national-level exams and competitions; thousands of students who have excelled at the provincial level and tens of thousands who have been admitted to universities and colleges nationwide – including many valedictorians at top universities.
With outstanding achievements, Hong Linh High School has been recognized as meeting national standards three times (2012-2017, 2017-2022, and 2024-2029). The school has consistently received the title of "Excellent Labor Collective" for many years, and has been awarded certificates of merit and emulation flags by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ha Van Hung, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committee, praised the achievements that Hong Linh High School has made during its 40 years of development and growth.
The Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department requested that the school continue to uphold its tradition of unity, innovation, and creativity, effectively achieving the goal of "training human resources and developing talents" for Ha Tinh province.
In the coming period, Hong Linh High School needs to proactively implement educational tasks associated with the implementation of Resolution No. 71 dated August 22, 2025, of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development; and continue to fundamentally and comprehensively reform education towards developing the qualities and competencies of learners.
In addition, the school needs to encourage its teaching staff to research and apply science and technology, be flexible in teaching methods, effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program, and strive to become one of the leading units in the province in terms of teaching and learning quality.
