"Truong Tuong Tu 2" criticized for excessive adaptation

The Chinese TV series "Truong Tuong Tu 2" has aired up to episode 15 with many important details according to the original novel.

However, the film received a lot of criticism for changing and cutting too many details from the original. The keyword "Truong Tuong Tu 2 is too adapted" climbed to the top trending on Weibo.

In which, the scene where Tieu Yeu (Duong Tu) meets her mother again - one of the important highlights of part 2 was commented to be done too hastily, the effects were not worthy of an S+ level movie with a huge investment.

In the original novel, Xiao Yao's reunion with her mother in the peach garden was a major milestone, helping her untie the knot in her heart and influencing her growth. This scene was also beautifully depicted with the effect of flowers flying all over the sky. But when it was made into a movie, the setting was changed to an old house with only a few flower petals flying around Xiao Yao.

It is reported that the scene where Tieu Yeu meets her mother was originally removed by the film crew, but Duong Tu requested to keep it.

The audience was also upset when many important details of the character Do Son Canh played by Dang Vi were cut to give to another character.

In the original, Tieu Yeu only brought Do Son Canh to burn incense for her parents. Canh knelt before Tieu Yeu's mother and was entrusted with her daughter's life. But in the movie, the one who knelt before Tieu Yeu's parents was Thuong Huyen (Truong Van Y), Canh just stood silently behind.

Even Tuong Lieu (Dan Kien Thu) was given the scene of burning incense for Tieu Yeu's parents as a future son-in-law, while Do Son Canh was completely cut out.

The feelings between Tuong Lieu and Tieu Yeu developed too much. Tuong Lieu looked at the picture of Tieu Yeu's parents and imagined himself and Tieu Yeu being together. Instead of Do Son Canh finding a way to remove the ancient worms for Tieu Yeu according to the original, this role in the movie was transferred to Tuong Lieu.

The audience was upset because the screenwriter made Dang Vi's role pale, just like a "servant" following the female lead.

The number of views of "Truong Tuong Tu 2" on Van Hop is currently lower than "Em dep hon anh sao" by Hua Khai and Dam Tung Van. Duong Tu's film has been broadcast again for 2 days but has not been able to surpass the 40 million view mark. Before that, there was a day when it dropped to 25.52 million views.

The new film recently opened on Douban with 6.6 points through 30,000 reviews, far behind part 1.
