According to the latest update on Douban, the average score of the Chinese TV series “Changxiangxiu 2” has dropped to 6 points, with nearly 75,000 reviews. Half a month ago, the series first opened its Douban score with 6.6 points through 30,000 reviews.
This is a serious decline compared to part 1 of the work. Last year, part 1 of "Truong Tuong Tu" recorded a score of 7.8 with 417,000 reviews.
Netizens predict that the Douban score of “Truong Tuong Tu 2” may soon drop to average, because the film is still receiving a lot of criticism. Many people were even “shocked” to learn that the 2 parts of the film were filmed at the same time, but the broadcast schedule was 1 year apart.
Due to regulatory regulations, Chinese TV dramas cannot exceed 40 episodes, and each season cannot be broadcast consecutively. Therefore, although “Truong Tuong Tu” has finished filming, it has to be divided into 2 parts (part 1 has 39 episodes to air in 2023, and part 2 has 23 episodes to air in 2024).
However, in contrast to part 1 being well received and becoming one of the hottest Chinese TV series of 2023, part 2 was disappointing when it aired.
Audiences think that “Truong Tuong Tu 2” is too adapted, with many details being far different from the novel. The plot of the male lead Thuong Huyen (Truong Van Y) is superficial, while the film mainly focuses on the love story of the female lead Tieu Yeu (Duong Tu).
Duong Tu's character Tieu Yeu was criticized for having ambiguous feelings for many men at the same time, losing the value of the original character.
Dang Vi's fans were upset when his character Do Son Canh had many important scenes cut and transferred to the supporting male character Tuong Lieu (Dan Kien Thu).
Another opinion is that, with the quality getting worse in the final stage, if "Truong Tuong Tu" was not divided into 2 parts, it could have become a disastrous work.
