Brazilian media highly appreciates Vietnam's multilateral foreign policy

On July 5, the Brazilian website INVERTA published an article in Portuguese, titled "Vietnam's multilateral diplomacy - the journey of global integration and its mark at BRICS 2025" on the occasion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's start of a working trip to attend the 2025 BRICS Summit and bilateral activities in Brazil, at the invitation of President Lula da Silva.

The article emphasizes that the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, taking place on July 6-7, is an opportunity for Vietnam, the 10th partner of BRICS, to affirm its pioneering role in multilateral diplomacy, contributing to building a peaceful , fair and sustainable world.

With a dynamically growing economy , a population of nearly 100 million, and deep integration into global supply chains, Vietnam offers Brazil a story of resilience and ingenuity, from a once isolated country to a reliable partner, actively shaping multilateral mechanisms.

Vietnam's presence at BRICS 2025 not only strengthens relations with emerging economies but also demonstrates its commitment to responsibility in addressing global challenges, from sustainable development to climate change response.

For Brazil, this is an opportunity to witness a dynamic Vietnam, ready to cooperate for common interests and a prosperous future.

INVERTA website highlights Vietnam's multilateral foreign policy over the past nearly 80 years since President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945.

The article commented: "Multilateral diplomacy has accompanied Vietnam's development stages, from the struggle for independence to building and defending the country. During the period of 1945-1975, diplomatic victories at the Geneva Agreement (1954) and the Paris Agreement (1973) not only affirmed Vietnam's basic national rights but also won widespread support from international friends, contributing to the historic victory of national reunification. These achievements laid a solid foundation for the position of an independent Vietnam in the international arena."

The article emphasized that since the 1986 Doi Moi, multilateral diplomacy has been identified as a core pillar in the foreign policy of "independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation and development; multilateralization, diversification of relations, proactive and active international integration."

Referring to Vietnam officially becoming the 10th partner of BRICS last June, INVERTA commented that this is an important milestone in Hanoi's multilateral diplomatic journey.

With a population of nearly 100 million, a rapidly growing economy and deep integration into global value chains, Vietnam is considered "an important actor in Asia" and a partner that shares BRICS' commitment to building a more equitable and representative international order.

The article commented that the Vietnamese Prime Minister's participation in the BRICS 2025 Summit is not only a normal foreign activity but also a vivid demonstration of Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification.
