Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung has just signed and issued Decision No. 1536/QD-BVHTTDL stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism , effective from July 1, 2023.
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism is an administrative organization under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, performing the function of advising and assisting the Minister in state management of tourism and organizing the enforcement of tourism laws nationwide, and managing public services on tourism in accordance with the provisions of law.
From the end of 2021, the General Department of Tourism launched the Live fully in Vietnam communication campaign to promote the destination to international visitors after the pandemic.
According to the new organizational structure, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration will have a director and deputy directors and no longer have department heads or deputy department heads (replaced by department heads or deputy department heads for departments such as the Department of Travel Management, Department of Tourist Accommodation Management, Department of Tourism Promotion Management, etc.).
Vietnam National Tourism Administration has legal status, a seal with the national emblem and headquarters in Hanoi , its English name is Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT).
Regarding transitional regulations, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will inherit the tasks and powers of the General Department of Tourism according to regulations.
Previously, on January 16, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed and issued Decree No. 01/2023/ND-CP of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, effective from February 20. Thus, by Decision No. 1536/QD-BVHTTDL, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism officially has a new name from July 1 after many separations and mergers. In 1978, the National Administration of Tourism was established, in 1991 it merged into the Ministry of Trade and Tourism, in 1992 it was separated into the National Administration of Tourism - a government agency and in 2007 it merged into the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
