From August 2, all airports nationwide will officially deploy level 2 electronic identification accounts (VNeID) for air passengers.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires agencies and units to implement the use of VNeID accounts for passengers traveling on domestic flights (for Vietnamese citizens, VNeID is equivalent to a citizen identification card; for foreigners, VNeID is equivalent to a passport or international travel document).
Airport operators, airlines, and aviation service providers shall update the above regulations in their aviation security programs, regulations, and related operational documents (if any).

Units proactively resolve difficulties and problems during the implementation process to facilitate passengers' travel by plane, ensure security and safety; report to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam on issues beyond their authority.
At Buon Ma Thuot Airport, following the direction of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the unit has piloted the use of VNeID accounts since June 2023, officially applied from August 2, 2023. However, on the first day of implementation, the number of passengers using VNeID to check in for flights was very small, most of them still used common documents such as citizen identification cards, driver's licenses, personal identification papers, etc.
