A 26-year-old patient from Bien Hoa City was admitted to the hospital with severe abdominal pain in the epigastric and liver regions, and repeated vomiting. The patient's family reported that approximately 11 hours prior to admission, the patient had ingested nearly 50 Ibuprofen painkiller tablets. Examination and tests revealed kidney failure, acute pancreatitis, electrolyte imbalance, and hypokalemia. These are dangerous complications commonly associated with high-dose Ibuprofen poisoning.
The doctors and hospital team promptly implemented treatment methods for the patient according to the protocol for drug poisoning. Thanks to timely intervention, the patient's abdominal pain significantly decreased. Test results showed that kidney function and pancreatic enzyme levels gradually returned to normal. The patient was gradually transitioned to oral feeding and recovered well.
