The four great mountain passes of Vietnam

Vietnam has a terrain that is mostly mountainous, accounting for ¾ of the territory, so the transportation system has many dangerous roads. Many winding mountain passes between steep cliffs on one side and deep abysses on the other have long been mentioned in poetry as masterpieces of nature:

Known as the four great mountain passes: Ma Pi Leng in Ha Giang, O Quy Ho in Lao Cai - Lai Chau, Khau Pha in Yen Bai and Pha Din in Son La - Dien Bien, they are not only famous passes but also symbols of majesty, challenging the courage of those who love to explore. The common feature of these passes is that they are concentrated in provinces with high mountains, a prerequisite for creating winding roads around the mountainside with large scale and steepness.
