Responding to loan capital in the new situation
After 1 month of operating the 2-level local government apparatus, the Transaction Office of the Bank for Social Policies (BSP) Dam Rong has quickly and proactively implemented many solutions to promote the effectiveness of policy credit activities in the area. In particular, increasing the number of visits to the grassroots level, working directly with the People's Committees of communes, associations, unions and leaders of Savings and Loan Groups (TK&VV) has brought about positive results.
For example, the Transaction Office of the Social Policy Bank has coordinated with local authorities to review the entire list of Savings and Credit Groups, assess the loan management situation and people's loan needs. Thereby, promptly adjusting and rearranging the network of Savings and Credit Groups to suit the new administrative model, avoiding overlap or missing beneficiaries. At the same time, associations and organizations support the review of the list of loan members, guiding people to fully comply with regulations on loans and capital use.
Mr. Tran Cao Thang - Deputy Director of the Dam Rong Social Policy Bank Transaction Office said: “To do well the above work, we have proactively contacted the leaders of the People's Committees of the communes about policy credit activities after the merger. Specifically, creating favorable conditions for the unit in terms of time, location, and space for transactions; coordinating with the commune police to ensure security and order at 9 transaction points. Thereby, helping people access policy credit activities conveniently, minimizing travel costs as well as risks in the borrowing process”.
Leverage to help people rise up
At the transaction session of Dam Rong 3 commune, officers and employees of the Dam Rong Social Policy Bank posted information on policy credit programs, publicized interest rates, outstanding loans, as well as addresses, hotline numbers, and settlement procedures... Mr. Nguyen Canh Minh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dam Rong 3 commune said: "Right from the first transaction session, the Social Policy Bank prioritized loans for disadvantaged households, poor households, and near-poor households for the purpose of economic development".
For the family of Mr. Hoang Ngoc My (Phi Jut village, Dam Rong 3 commune), the amount of 150 million VND from the loan has created conditions for his family to invest in taking care of more than 2,000 coffee trees, 100 durian trees, and install a domestic water system to serve their lives. "In Dam Rong, people still have many difficulties, accessing loans from the VBSP has created conditions for people to have more resources, boldly invest, develop production, and increase income," said Mr. My.
“The Dam Rong Social Policy Bank has proactively coordinated with the Lac Duong Social Policy Bank to receive the handover of policy credit activities in Dung K'no commune, now Dam Rong 4 commune. After receiving the handover, the outstanding debt of the Dam Rong Social Policy Bank is nearly 597 billion VND/8,000 borrowers/172 Savings and Credit Groups. Thereby affirming that the policy credit capital is a solid foundation for poor households, ethnic minority people, and other policy beneficiaries to have the conditions to rise out of poverty”, informed the Deputy Director of the Dam Rong Social Policy Bank Transaction Office.
As of July 31, 2025, the total disbursed capital of Dam Rong Social Policy Bank reached nearly 600 billion VND for 8,032 borrowers/15 loan programs, an increase of more than 27 billion VND compared to the beginning of the year.
