DTO - With the desire to create conditions for agricultural products and key products of the province to be better promoted in the market, recently, Dong Thap province has registered for protection of the "Made in Dong Thap" certification mark for 10 groups of local products and services. This is not only an opportunity for products of enterprises and establishments to affirm their position in the market but also contributes to the development of the Land of Pink Lotus.

Nem is one of 27 products, product groups, and services protected by Dong Thap province with the "Made in Dong Thap" certification mark.

Ms. Vo Phuong Thuy - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said that Dong Thap is known as a land with rich potential and abundant natural products. At the same time, the province also owns many traditional craft villages with hundreds of years of history, with diverse and quality products that have won the trust of consumers. With the desire to maintain and enhance the reputation of products originating from Dong Thap, contributing to promoting the local image, in 2019, Dong Thap province registered for protection of the "Made in Dong Thap" certification mark for the province's key products and agricultural products. By 2021, Dong Thap province was granted a certificate of registration of the "Made in Dong Thap" certification mark by the Department of Intellectual Property.

Accordingly, Dong Thap province will protect 10 groups of key products and services of the province, including: cajuput essential oil, handicraft products woven from water hyacinth; baskets made from bamboo; scarves; mats; linh fish sauce, pangasius fillets, dried snakehead fish, dried snakehead fish, dried red tilapia; dried mango, spring rolls, lotus seed milk, fresh eggs; rice paper, rice flour, noodles, shrimp crackers; lotus wine...

When granted the right to use the "Made in Dong Thap" Certification Mark, establishments, enterprises, and cooperatives will be able to attach the Certification Mark to product packaging, business signs, and advertising media for products and services listed in the certificate of right to use the Certification Mark produced and traded by the unit... At the same time, units are also given the opportunity to participate in programs to promote and develop the Certification Mark organized by the owner of the Certification Mark or in coordination with other units...

As the owner of the "Made in Dong Thap" Certification Mark, the Department of Industry and Trade has recently issued many management documents to effectively exploit and use the "Made in Dong Thap" Certification Mark. From 2022 to present, the unit has granted the right to use the "Made in Dong Thap" Certification Mark to 13 establishments, enterprises, and production and business cooperatives in the province whose products are in the list of products and services protected by Dong Thap province.

As one of the 8 establishments and enterprises granted the right to use the "Made in Dong Thap" Certification Mark by the Department of Industry and Trade in 2023, Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thuy - owner of Nem Hoang Khanh Establishment, Tan Thanh Commune, Lai Vung District said: "Being granted the right to use the "Made in Dong Thap" Certification Mark by the province is a source of pride for traditional nem producers because it will contribute a small part to promoting and building the beautiful homeland of Dong Thap. Besides, this is also the responsibility for the establishment to constantly strive, improve products every day, develop more diverse product lines to respond to the trust of consumers...".

According to the Trade Management Department, Department of Industry and Trade, to be granted the right to use the "Made in Dong Thap" Certification Mark, organizations and individuals producing and trading must ensure the following conditions: have an application for the right to use the Certification Mark; have production and trading activities of products and services originating from Dong Thap province and within the scope of certification according to the map; products and services requesting the right to use the Certification Mark are in the list of 27 products, groups of products and services protected by Dong Thap province. At the same time, there must be a certificate of trademark registration; products and services requesting the right to use the Certification Mark must meet the certification criteria according to regulations; units must commit to seriously and fully implementing the contents of the certificate of the right to use the Certification Mark...
