Farmers "work hard" in the fields to produce autumn-winter peanuts

(Baohatinh.vn) - In recent days, farmers in the communes of Tien Dien and Nghi Xuan (Ha Tinh) have been focusing on urgently sowing autumn-winter peanuts to use as seeds for the spring peanut production of 2026.

At this time, in the fields of Tien Dien and Nghi Xuan communes, farmers are taking advantage of favorable weather to go to the fields to produce peanut seeds for the autumn-winter crop in an urgent atmosphere to ensure the crop schedule.

Recorded in the fields of Thuan My village, Tien Dien commune, farmers actively plowed the land, covered with plastic and planted seeds.

The land is plowed deeply and harrowed thoroughly, then raised into ridges to ensure good drainage and avoid waterlogging so that the peanuts can grow well.

Before planting, the beds are covered with plastic film. This is an important step to help retain moisture, limit weeds and increase peanut productivity.

Peanut seeds after being soaked and incubated begin to germinate before being sown.

Ms. Phan Thi Phuc (Thuan My village, Tien Dien commune) said: This year, the family produced 3 sao of peanuts for the autumn-winter crop, an increase of more than 1 sao compared to last year. To ensure the right crop schedule, in the past 2 days, the family had to mobilize human resources to focus on plowing, harrowing, and covering the land with plastic before sowing.

This year's autumn-winter peanut crop, farmers in Thuan My village are excited because the KOPIA Project, funded by Korea, provided 100% of the L14 peanut variety on an area of ​​more than 2 hectares to improve the quality and value of peanut varieties.

Amid the hot weather, in Phuc Tuy village, Nghi Xuan commune, many households are actively planting autumn-winter peanuts.

Mr. Tran Van Cuong, Phuc Tuy village , Nghi Xuan commune shared: My family has planted 2/3 of the autumn-winter peanut area. Hopefully this year the weather will be favorable, the peanut crop will be good, high quality to be used as seeds for spring production - the main crop of 2026. Producing this peanut variety not only reduces input costs but also ensures quality.

It is known that this year, the autumn-winter peanut production in Nghi Xuan commune decreased by about 2/5ha due to "giving" land to the Gia Lach Industrial Park expansion project.

Recharge after many hours of work under the scorching heat

According to farmers, growing peanuts in the autumn-winter crop is not difficult and does not require too much technique, just need to prevent damage from rats and have a full care and fertilization regime. For this crop, from planting to harvest is about 100 days, suitable for natural conditions, climate and crop production schedule in the locality. The quality of peanut seeds is very good, the annual germination rate is nearly 100%.
