(Baohatinh.vn) - After storm No. 3 passed, fishermen in Hai Loi village, Tien Dien commune (Ha Tinh) continued to go out to sea, continuously reaping "sea blessings" with seafood such as crabs, mantis shrimps... bringing in high income.

After many days of rest due to rough seas caused by storm No. 3, fishermen in Tien Dien commune are busy preparing fishing gear to continue fishing at sea.

Every morning at around 9am, boats return one after another loaded with seafood. The sound of motorbikes pulling the boats ashore creates a bustling atmosphere throughout the area.

This is the season of crabs and mantis shrimps. These are valuable specialties that bring in high income, so fishermen here are excited to go out to sea.

“Usually after a storm, every boat catches a lot of seafood, especially crabs and mantis shrimp. The income from trips after a storm is usually high, on average each boat "earns" from 2-4 million VND. Fishermen only need to exploit, while traders are waiting on shore to buy the output" - fisherman Hoang Van Tu - Hai Loi village said.

According to fishermen, during this season, there are many crabs, they often feed at night, so fishermen often hunt from dawn. When the boat is about 5 nautical miles from shore, they start to cast their nets. Lucky boats can catch a few nests of crabs.

Fisherman Phan Van Thenh, Hai Loi village shared: Every morning at around 2am, I start packing my gear for the boat to head out to sea and return at 8am. In the past few days, the weather has been calm and the seas are calm, and I and dozens of other boats here have been lucky to catch a lot of crabs and mantis shrimps. On this trip, I caught nearly 100kg of crabs and 4kg of mantis shrimps, and after deducting expenses, I earned nearly 3 million VND.

Crabs caught in the net are removed in time to be sold to traders.

To keep crabs fresh and sell for a good price, fishermen invest in mini aerators on their boats.

Seafood is purchased by traders immediately after it is brought ashore. At this time, fresh crabs are sold for 170,000 - 250,000 VND/kg; mantis shrimp from 100,000 - 150,000 VND/kg.
