Opportunity to practice and grow
Since childhood, he has nurtured the dream of becoming a soldier, so when he heard that the commune was recruiting soldiers, Nguyen Hoang Nam (19 years old, living in Hamlet 9 Cho, Dong Hoa commune) expressed his wishes to his parents and decided to write a volunteer application to join the military . "I want to be trained in a disciplined environment, to become more mature so that I can return to contribute to building my homeland," Nam shared.
Dong Hoa Commune Party Secretary Le Ngoc Tung (second from right) took a photo with young man Nguyen Hoang Nam next to his application to volunteer for military service.
After graduating from high school, Nguyen Hoang Nam took the entrance exam to the Border Guard Academy, but did not get enough points. Despite this, Nam was not discouraged and was determined to pursue his dream of wearing the green uniform of a soldier and contributing to protecting the sovereignty of the Fatherland's borders.
“I see my time in the military as an opportunity to learn and grow in a disciplined and proud military environment,” Nam said.
The glory of youth
Not only Nguyen Hoang Nam, many other young people of Hoa Dong commune also volunteered to join the army. They all have in common the spirit of volunteering, clearly aware that military service is the responsibility and honor of youth.
Nguyen Tuan Kiet, a resident of Hoa Dong hamlet, confided: "For me, the volunteer application is also a promise to myself, a promise to live with ideals, to be responsible and always be ready when the Fatherland calls."
At the launching ceremony of the movement “Dong Hoa Youth ready to join the army”, union members and young people in the commune signed their names on the traditional flag. That image symbolizes the spirit of united shock, 12 petitions with the same will: “Going with steadfast faith, ready to dedicate youth to the Fatherland”.
Secretary of the Dong Hoa Commune Party Committee Le Ngoc Tung said: “The fact that many young people volunteer to join the army shows the positive effects of traditional education work, and is the result of close coordination between the government, organizations and families. This is a good sign, demonstrating the patriotism and responsibility of Dong Hoa youth.”
The young volunteers who join the army today will be the foundation for Dong Hoa to have more mature, brave and responsible citizens in the journey of building and defending the Fatherland tomorrow.
