On October 30, during the peak period of preventing and combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, while performing patrol and control duties in the Southwest sea, Border Guard Squadron 28 (Border Guard) coordinated with forces under the Coast Guard Region 4 Command to inspect and detect 1 fishing vessel with signs of violating regulations on IUU fishing.
Through initial inspection, fishing boat number KG-95548-TS, captained by Mr. TDD, 34 years old, residing in Rach Gia ward ( An Giang province), with 4 crew members on board, violated regulations on journey monitoring equipment on fishing boats, and violated Government regulations on management of fishing boats for aquatic exploitation.
Border Guard Squadron 28 proceeded to draw up a record of administrative violations and towed the violating vessel to the unit's base for further verification and handling according to regulations. Border Guard Squadron 28 continued to complete the dossier and handle the case according to the law.
Previously, on October 29, Border Guard Squadron 28 inspected and recorded the vessel KG-91063-TS, captained by Mr. NVT, 41 years old, residing in Hon Dat commune (An Giang province), violating regulations on IUU fishing.
In addition, Border Guard Squadron 28 also organized propaganda on the law, prevention and combat of IUU fishing for 5 vessels, with 30 crew members; distributed propaganda leaflets and presented national flags...
