Visit and give gifts at Doi Moi Island - where only one household lives

On October 30, the Standing Party Committee and People's Committee of Tien Hai commune (An Giang province) coordinated with Tien Hai Border Guard Station (An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command) to visit and present gifts to soldiers and people on Doi Moi island.

The delegation presented gifts to the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Quan, the only household living on Doi Moi Island.

The delegation presented gifts and water tanks to Doi Moi Border Control Station.

The working delegation visited and encouraged officers and soldiers of Doi Moi Border Control Station (Tien Hai Border Guard Station) and the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Quan, the only household living on Doi Moi Island.

On this occasion, the delegation presented gifts of necessities and household items to Border Guard officers and soldiers and local people; a 3,000-liter water tank to Doi Moi Border Control Station, with a total value of more than 10 million VND.

Doi Moi Island is the farthest island in the Pirate archipelago, about 20km from the center of Tien Hai commune, about 40km from Phu Quoc. There is no national grid electricity, no fresh water, unstable phone signal and only Tien Hai Border Control Station is stationed and there is 1 household living there.
