From 2023, BIM application is mandatory for level I projects.

(BD) - On June 15, the Department of Construction chaired and coordinated with the Academy of Construction and Urban Management Officers ( Ministry of Construction ) to organize a training conference on the application of building information modeling (BIM) in construction activities in the province (photo) .

The conference focused on providing information to representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors; leaders of People's Committees of districts, towns and cities and specialized departments and sectors; professional associations and construction enterprises in the province on core and basic contents related to the application of BIM in construction activities according to the roadmap of Decision No. 258/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister .

Experts from the Academy of Construction and Urban Management shared and introduced the latest legal documents, policies and mechanisms for applying BIM in 2023; BIM environment, platform and tools; BIM application for project preparation phase, design phase, construction phase, and completion phase.

In addition, the conference discussed regulations and policies on applying BIM models to projects and answered concerns and problems of units and enterprises related to how to apply BIM.

According to Decision No. 258/QD-TTg, the roadmap for applying BIM is in 2 phases. Phase 1, from 2023, BIM will be applied to level I and special level works of new construction investment projects using public investment capital, foreign capital invested in public investment and investment under the public-private partnership method, starting to carry out project preparation work. Phase 2, from 2025, BIM will be applied to level II and above works of new construction investment projects using public investment capital, foreign capital invested in public investment and investment under the public-private partnership method, starting to carry out project preparation work.
