According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from late July to October 2025, the total flow of the Mekong River to the Mekong Delta will change slowly with an upward trend. From late July to August, the total flow to the Mekong Delta will be 20-45% higher than the average of many years; from September to October, it will be 15-30% higher than the average of many years.

The water level of the Mekong River upstream fluctuates with the tide, gradually rising and peaking around October. The flood peak on the Tien River at Tan Chau and on the Hau River at Chau Doc is at alert level 1, above alert level 1, and downstream stations are at alert level 3 and above alert level 3.
