The departure ceremony of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation from the Southern region to participate in the 33rd SEA Games was held in Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of November 21.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration; Mr. Tran The Thuan, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports; Pham Thanh Tu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City National Sports Training Center, and many leaders of the city's departments and branches...

Speaking at the departure ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Nam Nhan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, reported on the preparation for the 33rd SEA Games of the teams. The Vietnamese sports delegation in the Southern region consists of 30 teams training at the National Sports Training Center of Ho Chi Minh City. The targets of Ho Chi Minh City sports are integrated into the general targets of the Southern region sports, determined to contribute the most gold medals to the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games.

The Vietnamese Sports Delegation in the Southern region consists of 59 coaches and 258 athletes, participating in 37/45 sports that the Vietnamese Sports Delegation has registered for. Localities such as Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Can Tho ... also contributed significantly, creating a united and strong force, representing not only one locality, but also the entire Southern region - a land of love, resilience and always full of aspirations to rise up.

On behalf of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Vice Chairwoman Tran Thi Dieu Thuy donated VND300 million to the Ho Chi Minh City National Sports Training Center to better prepare the teams participating in the 33rd SEA Games.

At the most solemn ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc presented the flag of departure to the Vietnamese Sports Delegation in the Southern region, wishing the delegation much success at this Southeast Asian Games.

At the departure ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh highly appreciated the contributions of the training teams in the Southern region in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular, striving for medal achievements for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games.

"With serious preparation and the desire to conquer new achievements, the Vietnam Sports Administration hopes that the sports teams of Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern region will maintain the highest sense of responsibility, discipline and fighting spirit; strive to achieve excellent results at the 33rd SEA Games. The delegation needs to set an example in implementing the regulations of the organizing committee and competition rules, especially the regulations on anti-doping, to protect the purity, honor and reputation of Vietnamese sports; need to demonstrate the noble sportsmanship, civilized and professional behavior, worthy of being the country's image ambassador to international friends" - Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh directed.
