Career counseling in aquaculture for students in Ca Mau

On the morning of April 20, at Ca Mau High School, the Departmentof Education and Training (GD&DT) of Ca Mau province coordinated with Nha Trang University and Minh Phu Seafood Corporation to organize a career counseling program with the theme "The future of Vietnam's aquaculture", attracting the participation of more than 1,200 grade 12 students from high schools in Ca Mau city.

More than 1,200 students participated in a career counseling program with the theme "The future of Vietnam's aquaculture".

This activity aims to equip students with knowledge about the fisheries industry, future career orientation, and at the same time create a bridge between schools - businesses - learners in training high-quality human resources to serve the development of the marine economy and fisheries industry of the province.

The program brought a variety of contents such as: providing information on the potential and development opportunities of the Vietnamese aquaculture industry in general and Ca Mau province in particular; in-depth consultation on training majors, career opportunities, support policies for students studying majors related to aquaculture; introducing the Minh Phu - NTU Training Program, a training model linking Nha Trang University and Minh Phu Seafood Corporation with many special support policies.

At the program, 20 students with difficult circumstances were awarded scholarships by Minh Phu Seafood Corporation, each worth 1 million VND.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Duong Hong Xuan, Head of the Department of Preschool Education, Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau, said: “The program has practical significance, helping students have more information and understanding about the profession, thereby making choices suitable to their own abilities and local conditions. The aquaculture industry is a potential field, playing an important role in the socio-economic development of Ca Mau province. Proper career guidance will be the foundation for students to have a solid future.
Mr. Xuan also hopes that the cooperation between the parties will not only stop at career guidance programs, but will expand into long-term strategic relationships to develop high-quality human resources for the locality.

According to Dr. Quach Hoai Nam, Vice Principal in charge of Nha Trang University, from 2022, the school and Minh Phu Group have officially signed a cooperation agreement on training human resources in the aquaculture industry. On the basis of this cooperation, Minh Phu Group commits to sponsor 50 billion VND in 5 consecutive training courses for students studying two key majors: Aquaculture and Seafood Processing Technology. In 2024, the program will continue to expand training in Biotechnology, and from 2025, it will include the program in Smart Aquaculture Mechanics, meeting the trend of modernization and automation in the industry.

Dr. Quach Hoai Nam, Vice Principal in charge of Nha Trang University, answered students' questions about the school's scholarship policies.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Le Van Quang, General Director of Minh Phu Seafood Corporation, emphasized: “Minh Phu always needs a high-quality, well-trained workforce. We are ready to accept interns, sponsor tuition and dormitory fees, and ensure that 100% of graduates have jobs at Minh Phu factories in the country and abroad.”

Many students are concerned about scholarships, internships and jobs after graduation.

At the consultation session, many students expressed their interest in scholarship policies, internship opportunities and post-graduation employment. They also asked questions about the recruitment process, welfare regimes and environmental issues in business operations. These questions were satisfactorily answered by representatives of Nha Trang University of Fisheries and Minh Phu Group, contributing to arousing interest and shaping more clearly the future career in the minds of students.
