On July 26, in commemoration of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 * July 27, 2024), the Provincial Youth Union organized a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs at the Monument to the heroic martyrs of Yen Lap district. Attending were representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and mass organizations of the province; leaders of Yen Lap district along with a large number of cadres, youth union members, and people.

Delegates, Youth Union members and people also observed a minute of silence to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the heroic martyrs.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, on behalf of the youth of the Fatherland, Comrade Bui Duc Giang - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union read a speech in gratitude and remembrance of the sons of the Fatherland who fought and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. The delegates, Youth Union members and the people also observed a minute of silence to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the heroic martyrs.

Promoting the tradition of volunteerism, over the past 77 years, the youth of the Homeland have actively promoted the movement of "Repaying gratitude", "When drinking water, remember its source" with many diverse and practical forms such as: Supporting the construction of charity houses for families with preferential policies; caring for and supporting Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; encouraging, visiting and giving gifts to wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, former Youth Volunteers, people with meritorious services to the revolution; providing free medical examination and medicine to policy beneficiaries...

Delegates responded to the texting program "Gratitude to Martyrs 2024" launched by the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs in coordination with the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the National Humanitarian Information Portal 1400.

Also at the program, the Provincial Youth Union presented 20 gifts to policy families and meritorious people in Yen Lap district with a total value of 14 million VND. The delegates responded to the text message program "Gratitude to Martyrs 2024" launched by the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs in coordination with the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the National Humanitarian Information Portal 1400.

The candles and incense offered to the heroic martyrs today are the promise and determination of the youth of the Fatherland to continue promoting the revolutionary tradition of the previous generation; vowing to continuously study, work, train, and contribute to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
