Tan An Youth Union carries out many meaningful projects and works

Tan An ward delegation visited and gave gifts to Nguyen Cong Danh and Quan Minh Thao.

Recently, the Tan An Ward Youth Union has mobilized benefactors to maintain activities to support two students, Nguyen Cong Danh (Area 7) and Quan Minh Thao (Area 3), who are in difficult circumstances. Nguyen Cong Danh, a second grader at Xuan Khanh Primary School, emotionally said: “I received 300,000 VND/month from the Ward Youth Union and benefactors. In addition, I was also given rice, noodles and school supplies... I am very happy and thank you for caring for and helping my family.” Similarly, Quan Minh Thao was also supported with 300,000 VND/month. The support period for the students is 1 school year.

The “Kitchen for Charity” model was established by the Ward Youth Union to cook porridge to give to patients staying and being treated at hospitals. The group organizes the cooking of porridge to distribute at 4:00 p.m. on the 26th of every month. Depending on the number of patients, each time the group cooks about 220-250 servings of porridge combined with milk to give to patients at the Cardiovascular Hospital and the Oncology Hospital (facility 2). On average, the cost of each batch of porridge and milk is from 2.7-3 million VND with about 30 Youth Union members participating. The “Kitchen for Charity” model operates thanks to the huge contributions of benefactors in the ward. Accordingly, after receiving items from benefactors, the group members process, cook, and divide the food into boxes to give to patients.

In addition to activities contributing to ensuring social security, the Ward Youth Union mobilizes young people to actively participate in improving the quality of urban civilization criteria. Specifically, in March 2025, the Ward Youth Union organized a campaign to build a "Civilized, safe, green, clean, beautiful" road on Tran Bach Dang Street, with a length of 500m. Ms. Lam My Ngoc in Area 4 said: "Previously, Tran Bach Dang Street was very dirty because of improper waste disposal, affecting people's health and urban aesthetics. In recent years, Tan An youth, together with the ward's police and military forces, have organized to handle "black spots" of waste, erase illegal billboards, and at the same time propagate to people to keep the environment clean, not encroach on the roadway and sidewalks... Thanks to that, Tran Bach Dang Street has changed and become more civilized".

Tan An Ward Youth Union also established a model of "Quick Response Team for Environmental Protection" to clean up the environment, quickly handle "hot spots" of waste, build a force to regularly collect trash and water hyacinth on Ban and Tham Tuong canals... To preserve the urban beauty, Tan An Ward Youth Union also coordinated with other youth unions to carry out activities for a bright - green - beautiful living environment; propagate and mobilize people to raise awareness in preserving space and environment; regularly organize waste collection in the Bung Xang Lake area and many canals and alleys in the ward...
