Admission requirements for integrated English grade 10

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the list of high schools enrolling students in integrated English 10th grade (according to Project 5695) and the conditions for students to register their wishes for grade 10 from 2 to 17:00 on May 10.

Accordingly, in the 2025-2026 school year, 10 high schools will organize integrated English programs:

Admission requirements for grade 10 integrated English program are stipulated by the Department of Education and Training as follows:

Students graduating from secondary school in Ho Chi Minh City and must meet the conditions of 1 of the following 2 groups:

Group 1 : Students participating in the integrated English program (according to Project 5695) at secondary school level in Ho Chi Minh City must meet the following conditions:

• Students must take the 10th grade entrance exam.
• Based on the 10th grade entrance exam scores and the average score of the integrated English program (according to Project 5695), these students will be given priority to be placed in schools that teach the integrated English program (according to Project 5695) according to their registered wishes.

Also according to the Department of Education and Training, candidates in group 1 can register for the following types and number of wishes at the same time:

• 2 wishes to specialize in English classes (according to Project 5695) at 2 specialized high schools Le Hong Phong and Tran Dai Nghia specialized high schools.
• 3 wishes to enter schools that open integrated English classes (according to Project 5695)
• 3 wishes to enter the remaining high schools.

Group 2 : Students who do not participate in the integrated English program (according to Project 5695) must meet the following conditions:

• The results of the training assessment and learning assessment for the entire 9th grade year are from good and above.
• Students participating in the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City. In addition to the three required subjects of literature, math, and foreign language, students must register and take an additional integrated English exam (according to Project 5695).

Candidates in group 2 can register for the following types and number of grade 10 wishes at the same time:

• 3 wishes to enter schools that open English classes (according to Project 5695).
• 3 wishes to enter the remaining high schools.

The examination staff of the Department of Education and Training said that secondary schools are responsible for providing login accounts and training on how to register for the 10th grade integrated English program. At the same time, they remind and explain clearly the wishes, quantity, order, conditions for taking the exam, especially the exam, scoring method, and review content for parents and students. The wishes are arranged in order of priority from top to bottom, if a candidate is admitted to a wish, he/she must study that wish and cannot change the order or content.

The admission score is the total score of the literature, foreign language, math exams and the average score of the integrated English program (according to Project 5695) for grade 9 of secondary school (on a 10-point scale) or the integrated English exam score (for candidates in Group 2).

Grade 10 Admission Rules

Referring to the principles of admission to grade 10 of the integrated English program in the 10 high schools mentioned above, Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the Admissions Council only considers candidates who participate in the entrance exam, have taken all the required exams, have not violated the regulations in the entrance exam, and the scores of all exams must be greater than 0. Based on the regulations on admission scores, from high to low to recruit enough quotas assigned to each school and according to each type of organization.

The admission process will take place in order of priority of the registered 10th grade wishes from high to low. The wishes are divided into three groups of schools in order: the group of specialized schools (highest priority), followed by the group of schools with English programs (according to Project 5695) and finally the group of remaining high schools.
Candidates who are admitted to any of their wishes and have decided to submit their application online must study at that school with the correct type of program they registered for and will not be considered for lower wishes. The City's Primary Admissions Steering Committee does not handle cases of changing the order or wishes for grade 10.
